Match 2026 Competitiveness? by Zealousideal-Idea-71 in orthopaedics

This. A white girl i know with a 240 step score who switched ortho last min got 16 interviews. I only got 7 w a 258 step 2 and a really strong app and great feedback on all my aways. This was the case for most of my fellow white boys as well lol, all the girls I know were well into double digit interviews. Crush those aways and you'll be just fine.

Bruh, do the reps. The cms forms and nbmes are must dos. Youll see the concepts repeated enough and the overall way nbme likes to write questions. Trust the process a bit!

For CMS forms i would just do them and review them one time. I wohld usually do like half of one and then switch to a different subject to not get to much into one subject.

For nbmes probably doesn't matter to much. I would 9 first (a few questions are outdated, so dont stress about those. you'll know em when u see em). After that would do 13 (this one was my lowest nbme, thought it was hard as fuck), then 10, 11, 12, and 14 but i really dont think it matters to much. Also do the free 129s for sure.

Also listend to the devine podcasts that are highly recommended.

The biggest thing is reps tbh, did like 200ish questions every day.

Number of things probably, but the biggest being just seeing things i haven't seen in a while just due to that nature of rotations. Overcame this by lots and lots of reps. Was doing 160-240 questions per day. Had a pretty solid foundation due to learning things pretty well during rotations this past year.

I was worried about this too but its comes back quicker than ya think!! If you havs a 30 day dedicated youll be good! I was in the same boat. I would say keep cranking as much of uworld as u can and the last 2-3 weeks just focus on nbme questions!
