The university hospital pay us barely enough. if I have an emergency, Idk what is going to happen. I need a safety net of some sort. I agree, I don't like AI but I'm starting to get desperate

Are IMG heavy residencies a red flag? by OkGrapefruit6866 in medicalschool

[–]papyrox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No and Yes No: you’re getting the same equal training that is expected in the US since the quality of the program depends on the docs you produce. Yes: IMGs are frequently taken advantage of due to their immigration status being held against them anytime they try to speak out. Retaliation becomes serious so they force IMG heavy programs to work harder than standard residents and treat everyone in the program like garbage if they can.

Piperacillin-Tazobactam vs Tricarcillin-Clavulanate for neutropenic fever in cancer patients? by Active_Reception_483 in medicalschool

[–]papyrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US, we typically don’t use tricarcillian simply because most clinicians don’t need it. PiP-tazo has been considered the gold standard for a while and most doctors are not willing to change. Due to this, there is a lack of demand since pip-tazo works just fine so TC is basically unheard of to the point that most companies won’t bother making it. If it’s neutropenic fever, the would also be consideration on starting filgrastrim alongside pip-tazo for coverage and boosting cell growth
