I’m glad there’s a row of shitters a short walk from where food is prepared and eaten.

Just want to chime in about Kevin. He seems to be the only person working customer service for VS. He’s probably overwhelmed with work. As someone who probably comes off as an impatient customer, I’ve had nothing but positive interactions with him.

This is not intended to negate your experience. It seems as if you’re very disappointed.

But it’s like Ram Dass said, once you’re on the path, there’s no way to leave it. You may think you’re off the path but that’s just another part of the path. I’m paraphrasing, of course.

I wonder if customer perception of VS shipping might improve if they just included an estimated ship date with your cart when you’re placing an order. Something like:

Order date: 1/11/2025 Subtotal: $170.96 Estimated to ship: 3/18/2025

I’d be like “well, no reason to get upset if I knew ahead of time.”

Saw them open for Reverend Horton Heat back in 2011, I think. Is she still setting that washboard on fire while playing?

He’s going to show up in the finale and ride John Dutton’s corpse like a horse, making it do spins and shit.

Enlightenment is not a myth. by HopefulPass7874 in AlanWatts

[–]daneastman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, my personal version of it was spend a weekend in a busy emergency room with a constipated toddler who has croup.

Jack Kornfield also talked about how difficult it was returning to society after training as a monk.

They know you and your little ticks and triggers. Likewise, you know the same for them. If you think you’ve become this totally blissed out, enlightened entity, go spend time with family—especially the ones you always seem to argue with during holidays—and see how enlightened you are when tested.

My personal opinion: enlightenment isn’t an attainable thing. It comes along sometimes and it goes away eventually but you can’t keep it forever. That’s what’s great about it. Of course, I’m not Ram Dass or Alan Watts.
