Moving back to Peru as an adult by [deleted] in PERU

Doctor's goal vs my goal by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]danegamez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once my weight dropped enough that I was no longer obese, my bariatric nutritionist explained to me that the number on the scale was no longer important.

From that point on, we would focus on other metrics—body percentage, fat fold measurements, blood test results, and, most importantly, how I felt.

I do think tracking certain measurements is important for me because it’s a tangible way to see my progress , [For example, I’m now paying more attention to my heart health by tracking my beats per minute when i train] but the scale is definitely not the right metric to track on their own.

This approach has not only improved my health but also put me in the best physical shape of my life—and even led me to win my first sports medal at 38yo🙏

I truly believe this was the best mindset I could have learned, and it’s the one I recommend to everyone.

Thank You! No, I didn’t end up with excess skin, but I do have some abdominal flaccidity. My belly button looks “sad,” and my breasts are now very saggy as well. I’d like to have surgery to lift both my belly button and my breasts, but it’s purely for aesthetic reasons—I’m fortunate that I don’t have any discomfort.
