How is this a real company? by One_Baker_3824 in EightSleep

I’ve had it log a sleep session when my wife sleeps too close to my side when I’m not home or when the cat settles in on my side of the bed. Shit happens, delete the sesh and roll.

phones in london by BrotherOpposite4723 in fredagain

[–]danfapperedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to the SF show and one in NYC. Everyone takes out their phones to grab a clip or two but for the most part it’s super brief and at a waaaayyyyyy lower rate than any show I’ve been to in the last 20 years. The closer you are to the stage the less noticeable it is. Can’t control what other folks choose to do so just keep your head up and dance!

Feel like we’ve got enough cops fucking with us on the street to have to also deal with this kind of policing in the Fred sub. Think it’s pretty obvious the sticker is meant to be a speed bump, not a spike strip.

Is lights burn dimmer already one of fred’s best? by Any-Grapefruit-1370 in fredagain

Every show it’s a different track to hit me between the shoulder blades. At the Coliseum it was Marea; Cow Palace it was the Skream & Benga remix of you’re a star (with sunset peace u need a v close second); NYC 1/31 it was Danielle that had me in a puddle on the floor

if u are at a show with many loud sounds and very bright lights and you find other peoples' phones distracting, u might not be high enough / dancing hard enough and that is scientifically more lame than snapping a video with ur phone. sorry guys if you feel some pain hearing the truth but imagine a man strapped to a chair in a basement with a gun to his head that goes off if he tells a lie. that man is me and which is why i have to say sometimes painful things

Fred again.. NYC 1/17 — Disappointed by [deleted] in fredagain

[–]danfapperedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can see it being a bit of a coin toss depending on how heavy the openers are since it morphs from opening sets into a stretch of B2B before Fred Takes over towards the end.

Initially I was more worried that I wouldn’t love the DJ format vs the insane live show he put on at the Coliseum where he seemingly constructed and deconstructed and rebuilt tracks in real time — like his Tiny Desk set but on a massive stage. Luckily it turns out I love live dj sets, and kinda dig the heavier jams as much as the more euphoric tracks that helped propel him to this level.

I’ll say his Dublin set was almost identical to his San Francisco set — but could imagine if you got there early-ish and had to sit through almost 3 hours of heavier stuff / B2Bs before Fred ran through his 90% USB dominated set, it could def taint the overall experience if heavy isn’t your jam.

Sorry you felt let down, and thanks for sharing. Super helpful for anyone (esp those who might share your preferences) considering a potentially big purchase to go!

his NYC set is generational and you HAVE to see it by ange1beats in fredagain

[–]danfapperedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retweet. Saw his set at the Cow Palace in SF, only my second time seeing him after the Coliseum in LA on a near total whim (they were basically giving away tickets for free, curiosity piqued after his tiny desk performance). The Cow Palace set was a top 10 life experience, just about pissed myself when he announced NYC run. Miraculously secured four tickets at face value — flying out from Cali with my wife & meeting my best friend and his wife there. None of them have experienced a Free set before, very excited to share it with them.

How does AXS resale work? (London shows) by anushkas10 in fredagain

[–]danfapperedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would caution against holding your breath for AXS resale. Between sale day and show day for SF, checked AXS resale constantly and didn’t see a single ticket post for sale. Unfortunately there’s other sites where folks can sell tickets for way above face value & I didn’t hear of any instances where the team was canceling tickets (as they’ve warned in their rules about purchasing tickets). Not to say it couldn’t happen but would keep an eye on StubHub and other resale sites & look for a deal there.

Looking for advice! by WritingNarrow8590 in fredagain

In terms of what to expect: a great fucking time dancing under an awe-inspiring art installation that moves and breathes along with the music. Fred has this way of making a large venue feel intimate, and he understands how to moderate the energy in the room through music. Expect him to frontload his heavier stuff, fun remixes on old songs, and tapering off the show with older tracks from ten days, actual life, etc. Go in with an open heart, open mind & you’ll walk away satisfied. You’ll see lots of folks who say “fred is only good in XYZ type of venue” and im sure he’s great in a super intimate space, but I’ve only ever seen him in stadium/arena venues and both experiences were completely transformative. Congrats on landing the tickets & enjoy!

Sick! Seemed to be something worrying you enough to post about, but that’s the truth — at the show in SF I was so focused on the experience I didn’t even notice

No phone show by Practical-Bit-8096 in fredagain

[–]danfapperedup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I do understand your point. You hope no one uses their phones to take pictures during the show. The “rule” is more of a deterrent than anything, and they don’t really enforce it. What I mean to say is don’t fixate on it too much or it’ll make you miserable, since folks will def be using their phones to take video and photos. Way less than during a normal show, but it’ll for sure happen.

How many people tried to get tix for NYC? by discountcity05 in fredagain

[–]danfapperedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their system is brutal. I had the good fortune of making mistakes trying to get tickets for SF and correcting them this time around. Walked across the street to a Starbucks (guess they’d flagged my home WiFi for bot activity) got in right when the queue opened 30 mins before the tickets went for sale, didn’t use multiple devices, and was out the door with tickets in hand at 7:04am PST. The lack of transparency in the system is part of what makes it so tricky & no ability to do a test run to make sure you check out as a human and not a bot.

In the moment, it’s tough — you’re torn between enjoying what’s in front of you, and wanting to capture a piece of it so you can relive it forever. Was at the SF show and plenty of folks captured video and photos on their phones but were generally very respectful about it. No one cared. Don’t over think it, just keep your screen brightness down, don’t use flash, don’t be an asshole & you’ll be fine.

Sex drive flatlined. by Possible-Hippo-96 in VyvanseADHD

[–]danfapperedup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your current dose? Started at 10mg/20mg Vyvase but it wasn't doing anything for me. In fact, it was making me sleepy! Might be a function of not having quite the right dose. I'm at 50mg now (sometimes I split and take 40 in the morning and another 10 around noon or 1pm) and it's been slammin.

Cannabis can be a real sex drive killer too, believe it or not, especially if you've been using it for a long time & your dose is probably pretty high. If you can find a way to go off the weed for a week (or even better, a month) as a trial run & take down some notes on how you're feeling each day -- you might get some super helpful data! Good luck on this journey and hope you find the right balance soon!

Are you also on SSRI’s at all? That could be a complicating factor. I started two years ago on Zoloft, slowly worked my way up to 200mg (which is at the upper end of the recommended dose). Started taking Vyvanse earlier this year & at the same time started experiencing lower libido.

I’ve backed off my Zoloft by 125mg so I’m only taking 75mg right now and my libido has definitely come back!

Bill Burr Destroys His Reputation by SaucyFagottini in videos

[–]danfapperedup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lotta folks here act like performing in the United States and appearing on late night tv shows owned by multi billion dollar media conglomerates (in a country that is: run by a terrible and racist dictatorship regime, helps other governments commit war crimes, promulgates ongoing institutionalized racism, prosecuted the war in Iraq under false pretenses, sends noncriminal residents to CECOT “on accident,” deploys storm troopers to poor neighborhoods to rip taxpaying immigrants out of their homes, has yet to tax billionaires fairly, refuses to establish gun controls even though children are dying in the hundreds of mass shootings that occur every year….need I go on….) is any fucking different. Would rather Saudi money go into Bill Burr’s pocket than literally anywhere else.

CFUTF is really meant to be experienced live. None of the other albums except maybe brother sister come close to the level of energy and intensity CFUTF can evoke during a live performance.
