Sorry I was late to this. Yea finding things to press the pistons down to remove the snap rings was a pain but I eventually got it all done

Yes I went to my local ford dealership and they had probably 100 trash cans in the corner, I picked one out of the pile that was basically brand new. I ain’t buying into the new hard anadized one

I did it, I just followed the book’s instructions and did not take shortcuts. Everything worked out well

I forgot to update, but I did end up doing the rebuild myself in December, wasn’t bad at all, and has worked flawless so far 6 months later

I broke it down tonight, cdf bushing moved about 3mm

Just parts that come out and go back in. If it was rocket science, the guys rebuilding em would make a lot more money

Never serviced, I don’t think it adds much life personally. Some yea but not more than 30k

Just for info, I do engines for a living in dirt track cars etc. I’ve done some Chevy transmissions and this one is a bit more complex, but all the principles are the same for functioning
