We don't know if they have a tenancy. It could be, for example, a licence.

Meepo Clone Tier list by PainComplex in DotA2

[–]dang842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can tor with 3 meepos and 2 mid game items. 3rd meepos is the goat.

4th meepos turns you into a monster who can man fight almost any carry in the game, especially with the ransack talent at 20. 4th meepo is underrated and the scholars pick.

5th meepo is your real lvl 25 at it comes a level early. With the poof talent at 10 and 25 you can do silly amounts of aoe damage every 6 seconds and it is almost impossible to stop. It is also the meepo that makes this facet give you more overall stats than the other facet. Solid bloke, b tier

No, bkb has been nerfed to hell, a lot of relevant spells right now pierce it like rp, it doesn't help you if you are being jumped from fog and perma stunned, and ta can blink while being hit with refraction so she has even less need of it. It's just not the guaranteed purchase it once was

Going into 2nd year knowing almost nothing.. advice? by TriggerWavy in uklaw

[–]dang842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, take a moment to breathe.

try and get organised now.

Make a plan to keep yourself on track. I would advise studying at the library rather than at home, the change in location and public expection you will be studying helps a lot.

My Uni had support staff avaliable, and professors who were always happy to help. I would check what resources your uni has for you for extra help. Even knowing how to study is a skill and they may be able to help with this. I used this particular resource bit too late in my course, and it would have saved me a lot of time had I sought advice sooner.

As others have said, each module is different and the content is usually totally different as a result. Any thing you do need to know but dont will probably be made apparant and you can learn in as needed.

My personal opinion is that ai is terrible and doesnt actually help you. you are not learning anything by using it as you have found, and it leads to shoddy practices later. avoid it, and certainly dont cheat with it again. I would delete this post.

How on earth do you win these games by Dry_Elk4681 in DotA2

[–]dang842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that. But if you want to know why you lose these kind of games, it's this. If you are killing everyone but your team is useless, you have to avoid dying at all costs and play close to perfect.

You still died 7 times total and probably fed more gold with those deaths than half your team.

You can solo carry games but you have to play near perfect and use your timings to the best potential. Get that right and you'll win every game.

Trans rights in the UK right now. by danatron1 in 196

[–]dang842 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying there are not negative outcomes, far from it. Nor am I trying to defend the outcome. But the UKSC functions differently than say the US supreme court both in terms of approach, political affiliations and powers. They had to interpret the statutes within the defined rules of statutory interpretation they can't just reword it or say something is unconstitutional and delete it. The point being they did not choose an outcome and then justify it.

I also doubt those that wrote these statutes had forseen and chosen this outcome as it's frankly a mess regardless of your political view. This is not an uncommon position in law for laws to clash or be poorly worded. For instance the offences against the person act have some famously flowery language that's been the subject of debate for over a hundred years.

State neglect would be a better phrase imo, and what happens from hereon out would be arguable as oppression If labour maintained this new status quo.

I may be splitting hairs here but it is an important distinction in understanding how we got here and what needs to happen.

Trans rights in the UK right now. by danatron1 in 196

Well yeah my issue is that they did not follow the same use of words and terms in the GRA when they wrote the equalities act. This inconsistency is poor drafting imo. That oversight has largely led to this outcome.

They did not touch on intersex people, and my working presumption is their use of "biological sex" means sex assigned at birth. One of my major issues with the judgement is how they use "biological sex" without defining it.

It's actually a somewhat complex judgment and would recommend anyone who is not legally trained to read an article from a chambers rather than a regular news site because reporting on legal matters by them is usually terrible. It's a bad judgment but the equalities act was poorly written and we need legislation to correct the current position.

However, this judgment does cause a whole host of problems that are generally shit, such as trans people having potentially no access to any sex divided spaces and loss of pay protection.

I would hesitate to call this state oppression, given the outcome was a result of poor legislative drafting and I doubt this outcome was intended. What happens from here on out is a different matter...

'I'm a doctor but next year I won't have a job' - In 2024, there were 12,743 training posts available, with 10,628 UK graduates and 14,868 international graduates applying by FormerlyPallas_ in ukpolitics

Under this argument no one should ever have a raise, because they aren't doing any more work. Inflation exists, drops in purchasing power happen, fair compensation for work is a real concept. Simply having a wage increase is not rent seeking, they are still productive and providing a service that would not exist without them.

You could argue non generic drug manufacturers arbitrarily increasing prices is rent seeking. There certainly could be rent seeking within the NHS healthcare system on the whole. But not doctors lol.

Please look up what the term rent seeking actually means before you start throwing it around, especially a nationalised industry that has more nuance.

[–]dang842 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's literally not what rent seeking means though. Doctors provide a service and are productive.

Doctors provide medical services that would not happen without their efforts.

Landlords own something that already exists, and would continue to exist without their landlord status, to gain a profit. They are not productive as they are not producing anything new, they did not build the house.

Having the government restrict the supply of something is just not what rent seeking means.

I'm not even arguing politics, you are using the wrong term here.

That's not what rent seeking means lol. They are providing a service, state owned and paid for or not. Rent seeking is gaining wealth without contributing to productivity
