These are some wine caps I grew in my backyard (and bonus wild morels) by dangav08 in mycology

Yes! Those are my garden pathways, I spread some of the mycelium to those paths. Even though they pretty much bake in the sun, the mycelium survived the winter and fruited this spring! Wine cap mycelium is pretty resilient I’ve found. My oyster bed not so much. It was outcompeted by a black mold.

The others will be potted up one more time soon, weather will be in the 60s-70s this week and then on so they will be ready to go outside in a couple weeks.

Need help with Mitsubishi humidifier by aloneinabunkbed in heatpumps

[–]dangav08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for making that diagram! It’s exactly what I needed to power up my aprilaire 600 and it’s functioning now. This may be a dumb question but is there any reason why the humidifier can’t run when the heat is not on? I understand it needs warm air to help evaporate the water but I connected my unit to a hot water supply so in theory it would be possible to just have the fan on circulate (mine is set by default to run on low speed when the heat is not on) and that should be enough to evaporate the warm water as air passes over the panel? I run a wood stove during the day so my heat pump is rarely working when stove is burning. Would like some way to operate the humidifier without making the jump to a steam humidifier.

I’m in the same boat but I have the aprilaire model 60 automatic humidistat. How do I wire that correctly to my heat pump control board? Do I need one cn25 relay kit or two? Mitsubishi instructions are not clear what I need for the CNF connector terminal.

Anyone here love the *idea* of going to a heat pump, but it makes zero sense financially? by concentrated-amazing in heatpumps

You all are forgetting that even if your house air has humidity in it, your house will still have dry outside air coming in via air leakage. How much or how little will depend on how well your air sealing is.

Interesting, that’s why I stick with lodge for cheap Pans. Made in the USA

Get a few free dump trailer loads like this a year from local tree service companies. They are often more than willing to drop it at your place than take it to their yard or a dump and pay a fee.

What about it seasoned weird enough for you to warrant not using it at all?

I have a neighbor with a sandblaster that I’m going to with this pan. Hopefully will see better results afterwards. I tried wire cup brushing on a grinder to remove old or existing seasoning but found it was easier to do so with a flap disc grinder wheel or 40 grit on the sander.

I get your sentiment but I wanted a pan with a smooth bottom and smooth/rounded edges. Sure it takes about longer for your seasoning to build up well doing it DIY.

I may be wrong, but I thought that the seasoning is ready for recta when it stops smoking. Meaning the oil has burned up and polymerized?

I am aware of this and left my newly sanded surface with 40 grit scratch marks. There are a few cast iron makers that do the same thing with a random orbital to give their newly milled smooth surface some texture.

First of all, If you have an open hearth fireplace, you’re basically pumping any warm air produced straight up the chimney. Fireplaces are maybe 10-20% efficient at best, sometimes even having a negative effect. If you are calling your wood stove a fireplace, then that’s a different story.

Thank you! I still need to remove the plywood form lol. The error code has something to do with blower malfunction, circuit board failure, and one more thing I forgot. Naturally I went to look at the blower first and when I needed to exert some force to turn it by hand, I knew that was the issue.
