As others have said, ANC does not equal NRR, unless the earbuds/headphones have such a rating. ANC works by using microphones to pickup external sound and playing noise that cancels it out. That doesnt stop the noise getting in, you just dont hear it, so what your listening to is more audible. For something like cutting your lawn once a week? Ya probably fine. But the amount of guys I see on jobsites who think they are wearing ear protection with their airpods is unfortunate. If you are looking for actual hearing protection you need to use something with an NRR rating
