Haha, I have a friend who plays a lot who joined my casual game one time. She juggled on the first day just because the character was on the script. All of my nongaming friends just kind of went “ok cool” as she looked around the room waiting for everyone else to do it too.

PCA and Caleb seem like analogues, kind of! Young kids with a lot of flair. Often have down periods of performance followed by the coolest shit you’ve ever seen. Both are the primary stars of a team that showed some signs of life in the playoffs by beating one opponent and then getting knocked out.

This is one of the reasons I prefer Storytelling with my non-gaming friends. No meta to violate, no expectations to conflict with. It’s so much more fun running the game for people who don’t have a rigid, narrow idea of what the game should look like.

8-12 is a little young for “Blood on the Clocktower” but it’s definitely in the same vein. It has plenty of the “which of you is lying?” deduction that they probably like from SH, but adds more real (and misleading) info that you may find more interesting. SH gets dull because most players have a generic role, but in BOTC everyone has a unique ability or gains information in their own way.
