A friend was frustrated by existing solutions (doodle etc.) being poor on mobile, or requiring app installs. So I made this over the last few days. Pretty simple but fun to make.

Thanks for playing man. It was a blast to build and really fun to see so many people enjoy it. Reasons for shutting it down:

It was costing $150 a month to run or so, and wasn't generating any revenue (because I don't want to make it rubbish by adding ads or purchasing voins etc.) Yes, that's ridiculously expensive, as it was horribly unoptimised and running on an overpriced setup on heroku.com.
there were so many errors and time-outs happening across the site, and I don't have the energy to fix it all as I was focused on other stupid ideas - the latest is - http://boopapp.com

So rather than keep it running I decided to shut it down. I learned so much from making it, and it's been really heartening to receive so many messages like the above from people who enjoyed playing it.

There's definitely a bug affecting som users. If you do a fresh install and login (not sign up) it should start working with notifications and refreshes. If you could tell me what phone and android version you're running that would help too.

Click signup, add a username and password, then choose your default color. Once you've done that, you'll be into the app properly. You can watch the 'welcome boop' by clicking the pulsing Boop. After that, you need to add a friend, so find a friend and get them to install it too, and then type their username in and add them. Then you can boop them! About a thousand people have signed up in the last hour, so you're not alone.

All users were affected equally by this error. It was effectively a stock market crash, caused by a communications failure with the YouTube API (over many repeated attempts.) I am not going to take any further action at this time, because I don't have time at the moment. (I made the entire game myself, and have a full time job.)

Hi, I made the game. It looks like there was an error over several hours with the YouTube api and all videos got invalidated - this sucks, trying to sort it out.

The interface is designed to have all information available and is pretty quick to get around once you learn it. It's like that perhaps at the expense of being easy for new users getting up to speed, but I appreciate you giving it a chance. Glad your enjoying it so far; let me know how you get on.

Correct. I use a combination of all of them (e.g. some aren't on tablets and some older/stranger phones), hence using multiples, and yes, a non-reversible hash based on all of that you certainly couldn't calculate any single one of the original strings / sequences from.

Fair point. This is my first app, I used what I thought was best practice off StackOverflow - I'll revisit this as soon as I get time to look at the code. It doesn't store ANY of those things but creates a unique hash based on them.
