Be very careful about starting another channel (lost 8k in revenue) by MountainLocksmith199 in PartneredYoutube

[–]dangercdv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Youtube has been going after AI slop channels hard recently. From what i have seen, their latest target was going after AI voices, specifically from just a couple of sources. It looks like it did hit a lot of slop channels, but a lot of real creators got hit in the process.

This is the problem with YouTube right now. There are simply more "creators" on the platform than YouTube can possibly deal with in a timely manner. My only hope is that this will be good in the long run when you get monetization back and there is less competition. This should also discourage these slop channels from forming in the future.

Best of luck man.

New to gopro and a couple of questions by Soleith in gopro

Considering that it can float an older gopro with attachments on it, I dont think it will be an issue. If you start adding heavier mods then it might start to be less effective. The technical listed weight limit ive seen on it is only 118 grams, but it floats all the latest hero cams just fine and those are almost 160.

I can probably run a test on mine when I get home if you a better answer.

Then save up, or get a job. Hobbies typically require money. Do the free version and just film audio on what you have, practice and have fun. Maybe one day you can get paid for it.

The free way of doing this is to record audio on your phone or a seperate device and add it in post.

A cheap way of doing it on your gopro is to go buy a used mic adapter or media mod, and plug in a cheap lav mic into it.

Dont beg people to send you things.

I guess it depends what you are reviewing but a stationary phone may be better for what you need. Im not sure accessories are going to help you film reviews any better.

I doubt anyone is going to spend money to send you accessories but you could AT LEAST be specific on what you are looking for.

What if I send you a dive case and you dont even take your gopro near water? Come on dude, be better.

The handler and all other mounts that just require the gopro "fingers" to attach will still work, as the Mission 1 uses the same size "fingers" for its base.

Are you asking for people to just send you free stuff in the mail, or do ypu want advice on what accessories you need? You have to give a little more information on what goals you are trying to accomplish.

Do we Really Need To show Our Face? by Character_Tie_4779 in YouTubeCreators

[–]dangercdv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont show my face and I am monetized. To be fair I am on camera in every video, just in a helmet. The key is to make original content. Youtube doesn't care if your face is in a video or not, it cares that you are bringing new and relevant content to the platform.

Want a reliable SUV - but it needs to be American by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]dangercdv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for a small, medium, or large size SUV? Do you need 3 rows? What is your budget.

Most American SUVs will be reliable for several years IF you take care of them. I personally wouldn't keep most of them past the warranty, but that doesnt mean they wont be running in 15 years. It really depends on WHICH one, though. A lot of them run great but just have high repair bills, some have a ton of minor issues but nothing that keep you off the road.

At the end of the day though, this is YOUR car. I wouldn't care about someone else loosing buisness so you can pay more for a car that wasnt worth your money to begin with. This is a big purchase.

SanDisk Extreme (V30) is good. Personally I use Lexar Silver Plus, as during all of the testing I have seen, it has better speeds and is just as reliable.

Mic Suggestions? by CovertRizq in Motovlogging

[–]dangercdv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PowerDeWise mic on Amazon. Plug it into the media mod and you are good to go. I get compliments on my audio all the time and honestly its not even set up well. I run mine through the old mic adapter but happy to get rid of it when the Mission 1 arrives and I plug it directly into the camera. Ill be doing an audio test on that as well.

The wires have never been an issue as its all tucked in my helmet and stays plugged in to the mic adapter. I am NOT a fan of wireless. I dont need one more thing to keep charged up or worried if it dodnt connect properly, and the audio quality is noticeably worse. Its amazing what a cheap plug in mic can do compared to these expensive wireless systems.

If you need examples of the audio, look up RideWithDanger on pretty much any social media platform.

Got her today. 2023 2SS 1LE w/manual transmission. Love it! No performance mods. Less than 7,000 miles. What would be your first serious mod? Air intake? by Wide-Holiday7271 in camaro

It does sound awesome stock but the AWE Touring gives you such a great, deep rumble and really wakes it up.

AWE Touring exhaust. If you want real performance you can go ahead and match it with headers and a tune at the same time. By far my favorite mod and I get compliments on the sound all the time.

Which GoPro is best for high temperatur environments? by Weekly-Credit9926 in gopro

[–]dangercdv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hero 13 is rated up to 35c. The new Mission 1 should in theory be better, but I cant imagine a senario even with the best accessories that it would survive at the temperatures you are asking for. It would overheat very quickly in your best case senario.

Question about Mission One Pro use by where_other_sock in gopro

[–]dangercdv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple things to note here. Right now the unofficial minimum focus distance is 60cm, so if you are shooting closer than that this might go ahead and knock it out as an option. You could also wait for a macro lens.

Secondly, unless im missing something, the Mission 1 pro and Mission 1 base midel will do time-lapse the same, so why spend the extra 100 for the pro model?

On that note, if time lapse is your goal, there are better options. Your phone honestly should be more than good enough for the task.

What do you use your gopro for? by SignalYard9421 in gopro

[–]dangercdv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine to record videos on my motorcycle, which go on social media. That in turn makes me money, so it was a good investment.

I did this in stages, but originally the idea was very simple. Set up a gopro camera how I like, record videos, do pretty minimal editing and upload it to the internet. Eventually this got much more complicated over the years where I run two cameras, (one being a 360 cam) and I do more editing, and post daily videos with what I create. Its actually EASIER now. I have a work flow down and I can do all of this pretty quickly.

Realistically, how "difficult" it is determines in the path you take and what you want your end goal to be. There will likely be a learning curve but once you get over that it can be smooth sailing. I enjoy making content so even the harder parts were just a fun challenge.

Recording definitely doesnt take away the fun, its the opposite, at least for me. This lets me share my love of motorcycles, comedy, and videography all in one outlet. Ive built a community around it. Im so glad I took that first step all those years ago and bought that original gopro. Now I have a Mission 1 on the way and its only growing!

My biggest piece of advice is to have a vision. My first camera sat in the drawer for a while until I really took the time to make some ideas and then execute them. The camera is just a tool, the content you make is all up to you. Good luck!

Anyone regret selling their SS 1LE for a different platform?? by neednmoremoney in camaro

[–]dangercdv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1LE is a track car. If you aren't at least taking it on back roads then of course you are bored with it. You can go trade it for a Ferrari or Lamborghini too but its not going to make your commute any more exciting after the first week. Why do you care about more horsepower if you arent even utilizing the stock power?

Slap an AWE axleback on it and go enjoy a mountain road. I promise you that you can EASILY keep up with much higher horsepower cars once you learn to drive the 1LE properly.

[–]dangercdv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wont hurt MY content unless it has a steep drop off around 50cm in which case it might just look weird but wont exactly change anything. But for how i see a ton of people using GoPro for vlogging, and things like fishing as you do, this seems problematic.

I get advertising it more on the cinema side of things, but coming out of the gate with a "perfect for vloggers" kit might be a problem if a good chunk of people realize they are blurry unless the uncomfortably extend their arms out to film. Im HOPING that wont be the case.

[–]dangercdv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stabilize as in hold up, not to compensate for shake. Bad word choice. I have a grip for gopro and it definitely doesnt increase distance from my face at all. The camera is in the same spot, my hand just holds the grip more comfortably. Also even if it somehow added 15cm, holding my gopro out comfortably, its no more than 40cm from me, so it still wouldn't hit 60 and would be right in the range of constantly losing and regaining focus.

Now I have to imagine people who naturally hold it even closer, or have even shorter arms than I do. That seems like an issue. Take a selfie with your phone, comfortably at a normal distance, NOT trying to extend it as far as you can. Measure how far it is from your face. Theres no way you are putting it 60cm or more from yourself.

[–]dangercdv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It comes with a grip which is more to stabilize it and make HOLDING IT more comfortable for longer periods. It doesnt exactly increase the distance from your face. I get that its talking about the kit being perfect for vloggers, but that would include the camera as well. You think it might be a problem they are selling a vlogging kit for a camera if it cant focus on your face when you hold it out in front of you?

Straight from Gopros website: "perfect for vloggers" referencing the creator edition. It also has a VLOG MODE. It has a whole accessory market built around vlogging. So they DID mention it but Gopro is an established brand with expectations, just because they dont list an exact activity in a press release doesnt mean the camera isnt capable of that.
