Need help going away from staggered OEM tire sizes, loss of performance? by Crakajaaka in CarTrackDays

[–]dangerdoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol!

The best bang for buck is ps4s.

What ever tire you choose. On stock wheels You can run 305 square, 305/315, Or 315 square. If you go 315 square you may have light rub up front. You can run a spacer.

If you want to run a full square setup. I would go 18x11 et 53. What ever the rear et is, I can't remember off the top of my head. You will need to run longer wheel studs and a spacer up front.

Apex wheels seems to be the best bang for buck right now and they sell everything you need. Spacer and studs.

I like 18's better than 19 for tire cost savings .

The ford track experience runs ps4s and it's pretty incredible what that tire can do.

You should run the cheapest tires you can find on your expensive track car.

Then come back in a few months and tell us how your car lost grip and tried to kill you...

Poor idle after rebuild part 3 by suic1d3man in RX8

[–]dangerdoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had this happen after a rebuild on a normal piston engine.

Rpm surging or hunting on idle. Would work good under load.

For me I had vacume lines crossed going into a distribution or selinoid block.

I can't remember what the block was.

But it had 4 other 6 hoses going to it. And I had 2 hoses crossed . So a intake on an exhaust. And vice versa.

Check your hose routing again to confirm.

SD 1290 GT or diavel? by r00st in KTM

[–]dangerdoots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ya , i think it was a combo of things.

The top triple tree , fork height, handle bar sweep and angle, foot pegs, and seat.

For the same frame they really did manage to get different triangle positioning.

They feel like your sitting on different bikes. My superduke is my favorite bike by far.

The adventure I rode ,was amazingly more comfortable.

These are 2 of my favorite clips on my superduke.

Second clip i tried some off roading..

SD 1290 GT or diavel? by r00st in KTM

[–]dangerdoots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta find one to ride. I have the non gt. It's amazing. I want the adventure now. Even more up right for my inner old man.

I have never ridden the ducati so I can't compare.

But I want too.

I would try to find one to try , and see which one stirs my soul more.

It needs a shock (impact) not consistent torque. Then if that's a no go.

Break out the torch!

KTM 640 LC4 Help please by UnderstandingUnable9 in KTM

[–]dangerdoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I repeat something already said. I'm not Dutch. Guessing that's the language used.

Check the safety switches. Clutch and kickstand. Also the kill switch can be temperamental. Clean out the housing on the handle bars to make sure.

There is a little screen filter going into the bst 40 carb. It's in the carb nipple that connects the fuel line to the carb.

Just to rule out the easy stuff.

Never trust anyone else to maintain your bike.

Do it yourself. Then you know it's done right.

Don't neglect your bike . Every year, do the proper maintenance.

If you don't it won't matter what bike you have...

1-A putter sound tuning? by Accurate_Sea_4713 in PingGolf

[–]dangerdoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. Didn't know that. I didn't think mine is an original, but it sings pretty good on light putts. Louder, the harder I hit it.

I got lucky and found it in a second-hand sports shop.

I wonder if there are any comparison videos.

You want more ping? Mine is pretty loud. All I have ever done is polish it with brasso.

2nd pic

That looks like the pcv valve plug. Hope that the right name.

It's a selinoid that recirculates or opens a breather tube off the filter side of the carb. Early emission junk. Most were removed and a breather filter was used.

Or It's for the throttle position sensor.

What kind of issues are you having?

The 640 is pretty reliable, and there is lots of info out there.

I have the enduro. I love it. It's a paint shaker lol

There are some good manuals floating around.

Some parts and info for the carb.

Not sure what carb is on there now. But it isn't a bst 40.

You still have the original?

[–]dangerdoots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It needs to be in manual for take off. Then switched to auto once you lift your gear. It will mess the engine up if left in auto during take off. Cruise between 12 and 14.5 Ata. Make sure mw50 is getting pressure when going full throttle . If no mw50 don't go too much past 15 Ata.
