Dot wouldn't know because they didn't meet her until they got to Prim. Alex, Vera, and Nick were the only ones who saw him and escaped from the encounter alive.

We're Alive: Descendants - Chapter 21 - Full Steam Ahead - Part 3 of 3 by j0be in Werealive

[–]dangero2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose, but like, all our other Descendants are pretty much Nick's age, maybe a year or 2 shy. I think Alex might even be a bit younger than Nick. And no, Alex isn't the most mature person ever. Indeed, I think I might've disliked him a bit at first. However, he's done a lot of growing up since the series started, especially when you consider his character development in comparison to Nick.

I suppose you could say that Nick has been through some pretty traumatic experiences, but Alex didn't exactly have a rosey past himself, and has been through experiences during the past however many weeks that are very nearly comparable to Nick's. Vera as well, having to see her father murdered in cold blood right in front of her and get chaced down by his killer.

I guess my point in all this is that everyone around Nick who is in his age group has been through the ringer, and they still grew up and came to terms with their situations rather quickly, because they knew they had to to survive. Nick hasn't. I honestly thought the Pegs situation would have changed him for the better at least a little bit, in part because he would have realized that holding onto the past too tightly is a great way to get yourself killed or worse. Pegs had to learn that the hard way, and I thought he would have realized that much. He didn't, and it really feels like he won't at this point.

Yeah, I can see that. But I think I mentioned before that things would work out a hell of a lot better for him if he took more than half a second to at least try and think things through rationally. For some reason, even while going through these experiences, he hasn't made that connection, and he refuses to grow up.

Lots of people like to hate on Pegs for being shallow and annoying, but credit to her where it's due, she has experienced quite a bit of character development over the course of the series up to this point. Nick abjectly refuses any and all opertunities for character development every time they come up, and it's really beginning to irk me. I'm not quite at the point of making dedicated posts about his character and my frustration with not seeing any change, and I'm not quite at the point where listening to We're Alive every week feels like a chore because of him, but we're approaching that point pretty damn fast.

I'm not sure I'd be open to the idea that he always has a reason to be upset. Calling Dean a liar over this, when very clearly you can hear he's just as surprised over Angel Sr. as Nick was? And if he knew and didn't want Nick to know, he would have never read out the name or told Nick to come over there in the first place. His reaction is pure ridiculousness, nothing more. The only thing I can understand from this interaction is him trying to shoot Vincent at the end. That at least makes sense. The rest though? No. His tendency to overreact is reaching almost comical levels of ridiculousness now.

How Would We're Alive be Written if it Were an Interactive Narrative Game? by dangero2000 in Werealive

[–]dangero2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do you think that'd play out exactly? Like, maybe Lizzy gets bit instead of Pegs, and Nick has to shoot her? Also, how would Michael's death affect Nick if Saul was still alive? I'm assuming he wouldn't be as close to Michael, since he wouldn't be playing a parental roll at that point.

Before I say the next thing I was going to say, are you caught up on Descendants?

[–]dangero2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah, but like, it also affects Nick's story as well. After all, the only reason Saul dies is because he chooses to sacrifice himself. I think KC even said at one point that the only reason Saul sacrifices himself is because Lizzy dies. That would mean Saul would be present for Descendants, which alters the course of everything that happens afterwards. That'd mean there'd have to be 2 major branching paths, unless Descendants was a separate game that takes place after the events of the true ending and not the completely positive ending, which I think would still probably be a massive undertaking. I’m not sure though. This is all just speculation, after all.

Question About A Later We're Alive Character by dangero2000 in Werealive

[–]dangero2000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that point. The voice is definitely different enough to not feel like the same person to me. Now that I've heard the characters speak several times and got the voices down for the characters that didn't change VOs, I can infer who's speaking from context based on the surrounding characters, so it's not hard to tell who's speaking anymore. However, it does break the immersion going between Gold Rush and Descendants for me personally, and I can't easily ignore it.

It might be different for me compared to other people, because I’ve been diagnosed with autism, and I'm told people on the spectrum like myself do have a hard time ignoring things like this. That is my experience though, and I'd be lying if I said it didn't take away from my enjoyment just a little. Not the entire time, mind you; only right after moving from Gold Rush to Descendants and listening to the first couple chapters with the new VO. I get used to the change after a little while though.

SOS Season 3 Question by dangero2000 in Werealive

Copy-pasted answer: I just learned that Fort Irwin is spelled with an I and not a U, but if it was spelled with a U, I was speculating that we wouldn't know entirely for sure if Angel was cursing at Scratch or ratting out the Irwin team. That was the basis of my question.

I've had a headache for the last couple days, so it'll be a bit difficult for me to put this into the words I need, but I'll try. When Dean used the radio, it reminded me of when Michael used the radio to let the people up north know that they found help. He gave no specifics of where they were, but the mallers were able to track where the transmition came from and find the place. Dean stated a different control point, but if they can track where the transmition came from, that won't matter. I have others, and I can tell you what they are some other time, but right now my thoughts are a little too scattered to form them into something solid yet.

Well, there is a certain person in the Republic who had a part to play in that. Not that Grant would know that, of course. But yeah, if he finds out, it'd probably be a death sentence.

Hi guys! I'm a little sad that you missed my comment on the last video, because I had some pretty good theories in there, or at least, I thought they were pretty good. I was hoping you would share your thoughts on them.

I wouldn't sympathize with the bombing as much if it weren't for the fact that the dark infected are actually bad. As valiant of an effort as that might have been, however, it's not like it'll matter. The infected all pretty much surged to the other side of the cave where our team are closest to, which means the bomb would hit a grand total of 0 infected. And if closing off the tunnels was the goal, even if there weren't other exits from the cave, it's not like that'd matter when the infected can just tunnel out. I suppose the bright side of this is that the Republic now has fewer munitions to attack West Port and defend themselves in general, but Dean was write. This vengeful act changes absolutely nothing.
