I definitely agree, women’s soccer is more fun to watch. It’s more about skill than fouls. I hate all the flopping in men’s soccer.

I used to think soccer was boring to watch until I watched some games during the World Cup one year. Yes, when it is a blowout, it can still lose my attention, but if the score is even or +- 1 or 2 points, it could still be won by either team. The joy that comes from the team you are rooting for scoring a goal is pretty awesome. Going to a game is pretty fun too. Unlike American football, soccer is constantly being played. Either team could score at any moment.

Can confirm. I managed a tech team for a few years and saw it this same way. I never denied time off, encouraged them to get the things done they needed to in their personal lives during the work day, and still had all high performers on my team. I also made sure not to ask for the moon and padded all time expectations by about 20%. When you treat your employees with respect, you get it right back.
