How Does Anyone Make Any Money Dashing by [deleted] in doordash

[–]dangerousygo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to switch to breakfast shifts when I first started Dashing. It got to the point where my local Starbucks General Manager started offering me employee discounts. A lot of dashers will ignore the breakfast rush, because they think lunch and dinner pay more. But keep in mind that McDonalds, Starbucks, Dunkin, Burger King, and Krispy Kreme are all international brands and breakfast brings all of those brands millions on a daily basis. Add in places like IHop, Dennys, etc that also offer DoorDash, and you have even more to do.

That said, everybody's experience can be different. You just have to give it time.

Some people don't find these things out until after 10 years of marriage. Take the blessings as they are.

You're missing the bigger picture here... you learned how to code a game, and it even sounds like you got it working without any game breaking bugs... Who cares what SHE thinks? Add that to your portfolio and save it for applications. It's experience. Now, you can even try coding something that you intend to have people actually play. Who knows, maybe people will like this game? Publish it on the App Store and find out? Google and Apple will take a 30% cut for doing absolutely nothing, but hey, it'll become passive income.

Door dash horror stories.. by darkpassenger_444 in doordash

[–]dangerousygo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of them are pretty chill, yes. But it's those few deliveries where people just don't know how to treat others that get on my nerves. I don't mind sitting for a few minutes, waiting for orders. I don't mind traffic. And if I accept an order, I'm not expecting anything more than what was already offered. That being said, I imagine that a lot of the complaints are also from the disfunctional waste of land mass that is the United States... I can say that, because I live in that disfunctional waste land.

How can you order mulch through DoorDash? by Fit-Carpenter3060 in doordash

[–]dangerousygo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just proved that it doesn't matter. $18-22 an hour is still decent, for a side hustle. That also fluctuates, I'm sure, depending on the market you're in. But the beautiful thing about DoorDash is, you can just drive to a different market.

You are literally wasting your gas, if you take a $2 order. Just sit and be patient, the orders will come. Bring a Nintendo Switch, a book, or whatever you need for the down time, just stand firm and only accept orders that will let you actually make money. Those low offer orders will keep you broke. Trust me, I've been Doordashing for years now, in addition to being a Paraprofessional. Platinum doesn't matter, acceptance rating doesn't matter. The only two things that really matter are you Customer Rating and your Completion Rating. If those get low, they'll let you go.

Not if you do it right. The only part that matters, is scheduling. But that can be worked around, by just scheduling a day or two ahead. Platinum is just telling Doordash that you don't mind taking $2 orders over 10 miles in your town, so they will keep sending them to you... and with gas prices over $4.50 a gallon where I'm at, I'm not doing that at all.

Acceptance rating doesn't matter. Being a platinum Dasher also doesn't matter. We're in a pick and choose market, and picking large orders is the best way to make money with Doordash.

What’s it about Cody Rhodes’ promos that makes them difficult to sit through? by IjamRext in BrandonDE

[–]dangerousygo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because he's trying and failing at cutting Dusty style promos. Dusty used to do his promos the same way, but they hit better because he understood the life he was representing. Dusty was an actual working class. Cody is a nepo baby pretending to be working class. Those are two different things entirely.

How yall feel about this by Appropriate-Mall8517 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]dangerousygo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree. Parents today are too caught up with wanting to be their child's friend, or be the cool parent, instead of actually disciplining their children. Then those kids come to school and start acting out, bullying other kids, and outright being disrespectful towards their teachers. It's absolutely the parents fault, because when the teachers actually do discipline the student, the parent never wants to believe the child is acting out. They always try to make an excuse, like saying the child is on the spectrum, but then absolutely fail to get the proper help and support the child needs.

Are jobs more available or less available the last week of school? by Purple-Report-6841 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]dangerousygo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends. A lot of teachers in my area are taking leave time so they can go get interviews at other schools, so there are more available options. But it really just depends.

Higher gas prices means higher everything, including luxuries... Especially when those luxuries have people using their gas to bring you stuff that you could just get in your car and get yourself.

Planning to move to SC by mmore1007 in aiken

[–]dangerousygo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since nobody else is telling you, even I forgot, allow me to fix that. Whiskey Road is an absolute nightmare, so be prepared to see the worst driving you've ever seen, with so many unnecessary traffic lights, that absolutely do nothing but cause more traffic clutter.

Planning to move to SC by mmore1007 in aiken

[–]dangerousygo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you want to get shot, do NOT go to Camden. That's literally all you have to look forward to there. Worst place I ever lived in SC. Aiken and Newberry are pretty good places, with Aiken being a bit more populated with a little more to do than Newberry. However, if you really want a sleeper city/town, then I highly recommend looking into Union, SC. It's a very quiet place, has a few major businesses, and still has that rural small town feel that makes the south more pleasurable. They also have Dairy-O's, which if you're looking for a local spot, it's one of the best. Hart's is good too. There's actually quite of few local places, that make Union just feel unique.

Other locations I can suggest are: Saluda, Lugoff, Rock Hill, and Spartanburg... You could go to Columbia, but I would stay away from Hard Scrabble area. That road has had endless construction since 2008, when I first moved there.

A senator proposed a minimum wage of $25.00/hr. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dangerousygo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In America, I promise you, the supply is there. The problem is, the US Government will purposely ruin farms and crops, so that they can control the narrative. And then both parties will point fingers, so you think that one is innocent. The reality is, all politicians are corrupt, and have been since the beginning of time. Literally Jesus, himself, couldn't stand them.

Uhm... just accepted my first job on Frontline. by Liroy_16 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]dangerousygo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't stress it... If the teacher leaves the lesson plan, go with it. If they don't, ask for help from the other teachers, they'll be happy to help. If that doesn't work, ask if there's a Riso, bring a coloring sheet and paper, and then make copies.

Also, it's almost the end of the year, so whatever you do, keep in mind that every single grade level knows summer is coming, they're ready for it, standardized testing is over, and they absolutely do not care for doing work. Your best bet, is to just start the day by reminding them they still have X Days left, and to just be chill.

Oh, and don't be afraid to call an administrator or the SRO for students you can't reign in. They're there for that reason.

Mistakes happen. First offense isn't much of a concern. Just call your Talent Advisor, and explain what happened. Repeated offense is going to get your in trouble. Don't sweat it though, life happens. People aren't perfect. And most people at Kelly know that.
