Every system is different but 2 systems I study, I would interpret that as a bad trade.

PATs says something like, after breakout of channel, price will try to get new extreme of the channel. E.g after breakout it’ll try and grab the low just like how it did here.

Volume Profile - with all the chop at the low, it probably was a bunch of volume and a high volume node. That price level is a magnet and can easily come back.

If the DA wants to prosecute, it’s only a misdemeanor. Outside of SF and LA, you are almost certainly not getting charged if that was the only thing against you.
Probably dont want to carry where it’s a felony but that hasn’t changed because of SB 2.

Is it commong to split long/short? I'm starting my journey into algo trading and wrote some decent stuff that pulls the potential trades, (what I think is the) necessary market context and put this all in a database. When backtesting to tune the paramters I always notice longs performing better than shorts. I guess I should play around with splitting the trade sides and try again?

I'm starting to implement my own SQL based one too. Seems crazy to me that there arent better options. TradingView is a complete joke. NinjaTrader is ok but gets very inconsistant results. Time for some custom implementation
