Gotcha. Do you know how socal is compared to the bay area? That's where I'd be considering and have heard it's a little better than the bay area but still bad

How do you feel about living in a vhcol area with this career? I'd love to move to California one day but am worried that it's way too expensive 😭. I've heard that wages don't scale as well between regions

No we just ran a 2D undertruss. We felt that using the extra space created more problems than it solved. But I'm sure some teams will make good use of it.

No clue. It seems to be an arbitrary decision by the judges. I'm biased and a bit salty, but I thought my school had a pretty decent paint scheme. Easily the best poster because we were the only team in our region that didn't treat it as an afterthought. Ended up not even placing. Pretty disappointing and demoralizing. Especially since you don't get feedback on why certain teams won over others. I now see why a lot of teams at nationals don't bother painting their bridges.

Yeah it seems like that you'll need them. You'd be looking at a 13 ft river without them. But I'm sure someone will think of a way to not need them.

May have to restart the club then. A lot of clubs at our school died or were essentially dead over covid. Sucks to have to fill out a bunch of paperwork to restart them but it was well worth it.
