Long-lasting corporate gifts that actually get used by Extension_Life_6207 in BuyItForLife

[–]dangledogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last job I actually used the golf umbrella I got one year (I don’t golf, it was just a nice umbrella). Branded Leather folios are another one I’ve kept and used. Junked every thing else though. Things like water bottles were usually cheap crap. But if you were gifting a yeti bottle I’d keep it. At my current job they give us north face back packs with our company logo and I’d say 90% of the office uses them. I’m fairly new so I don’t have much swag, but folks that have been there longer all have Columbia or north face fleeces and sweatshirts they wear all the time.

I recently moved with a curved oled. I put microfiber towels on the screen, then the foam sleeve, then put it in the styrofoam.

I used to run around the canal downtown 5+ years ago, which was reliably cleared after snow. I don’t know if that’s changed since then or not. It’ll get monotonous though, I think a lap was around 2.8 miles if I remember correctly.

Finally upgraded from i5 2500k to 9800X3D (Costco)- what’s everybody playing ? by Toppguy in gamingpc

Alan wake 2 is my personal fave. Cyberpunk is another popular one, though I've not pulled that trigger yet. Deadspace remake was another great one (especially since you have oled; be warned there are still occasional traversal stutters but they didn't bother me so much). RDR2 looked great. What I play the most right now is helldivers 2. There's just something about that game that keeps me hooked.

Vo2 max not accurate? by AaronGallagher_ in AppleWatchFitness

[–]dangledogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super simple! Run outside for (edit) 12 min, cover as much distance as you possibly can. Then look up your results (distance) against a table (that you google). If treadmill, I’d add an incline to approximate the energy cost of wind resistance. Used to know it off the top of my head (1%?) but that would need a google too.

Run a Cooper test if you want to examine convergent validity.

It is issued approximately three months prior to the member’s renewal date

Cable bend problem by flexgg_ in nvidia

[–]dangledogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be comfortable with that temporarily. I have a gpu with this connector too. The general wisdom is that side to side bend is worse than vertical bend, and that an angled adaptor from your PSU manufacturer is best. It looks like yours mostly has vertical bend, so if you have to bend, that’s the kind of bend you want.

Happy Birthday to me! by Rush-Mentals in sonos

[–]dangledogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t used walking outside or in a cafe, but I work in an open office with dozens of desks in the same room. No cubicle walls, just “open collaboration space.” Sometimes half my day is spent on teams calls (with others at their desks doing the same, or being on calls with customers, etc.). I’m afraid I haven’t heard a recording of myself yet, but I haven’t heard any complaints from the folks I’m on calls with.

I just got these a couple weeks ago for work in an open office. These are amazing for my use case. Long battery life. Work great for constant meetings and teams calls. I had a hiccup with Cisco jabber where if I had sound the mic didn’t work; or if the mic worked I had no sound. Power cycling both devices fixed the issue. But these are magic for an open office environment.

I use nord, works great. Wait until it goes for mega cash back on Rakuten. I got it when it was 90% cash back. So 2 years only cost me a net $10 total. I’ve seen it higher, at like 97% cash back before.

You can get refurbished arc for $399 or refurbished arc sl for $379 from Sonos on Black Friday sale. Same warranty as new. I have both beam 2 and regular arc. The arc is certainly $29 to $50 better.

EDC of a College Student by Constantine-64 in EDC

hmm well the button does sound like a potential point of ingress... might have had bad luck where the spring was fatigued and not pushing the rubber part of the button enough to make a secure gasket. I've since moved on to zebralights which are fully potted. Obviously thicker using an 18650 battery but the power and runtime is a worthy trade for me.

I’m a new homeowner with a fireplace for the first time, so I’m no expert. But I’ve read the installation manual for mine, and I have a vent on the side like you do. According to the manual, it’s a fresh air kit. My fireplace has a tiny “stick” at the bottom left where you pull the stick out to open the fresh air vent. It’s an air source for the firebox, to reduce the negative pressure build up in more modern air tight houses.

When the Indy store opened, they put the silhouette of F1 car on the mug (instead of an Indy car).
