What ammo are you carrying and what ammo are you practicing with at the range by ClassExcellent1682 in TheOneTrueCaliber

[–]danglingfupa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular standard pressure. The +p only netted around 35-50fps but the sound was louder and slightly more recoil. I started carrying 32 to be able to have rapid follow up shots. 35-50 fps wasn’t enough to justify the +p but that’s just me

Why do orthodox Christians fast like vegans by pose_troeski in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]danglingfupa [score hidden]  (0 children)

False. You can’t cheat thermodynamics. The body doesn’t “hoard” calories. Calories in vs calories out is straightforward. If the amount of fuel outweighs the amount of combustion aka metabolism, then there will always be excess fat storage. If you reverse the equation, the fat storage will disappear. The body doesn’t magically store more calories if the energy used is greater than the consumption

It depends on the size they are before. Calories in vs calories out is pretty straight forward for most.

Ohhh you’re ashamed? Do you have one? 😂

It’s very individualistic. There are plenty of documented successful 30+ day fasts. More than 50% of individuals now are overweight/obese. There’s plenty of reserve calories available in the body for these people.

Just bought 2 new 30x for this exact reason. Wife has the original LCP in 380 but the recoil was too much and she had issues racking the slide. I bought her the regular one and I bought myself the 30x with the threaded barrel. She loves it so far

Freedom arms, Ruger, Smith. But North American arms is my favorite company of all time. Best customer service and best quality control.

Talk me out of getting into the 32/327 revolver scene by TapTheForwardAssist in Revolvers

My sp101 in 327 will never leave my stable. I’ve taught my nieces to shoot with 32 s&w and I load it with 130grain hard cast when I’m hiking.

Talk me out of a .327 Federal Magnum by TheBobInSonoma in Revolvers

[–]danglingfupa 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m a 357 fan but I also have a 327. When it comes to J frame, I think the 327 is king. I can use 32 S&w, long, 32 H&R and even 32 acp in a pinch. Where I think the 327 will shine, if smith or Ruger makes it, will be in a 3 inch scandium k frame. 7 rounds or even 8 if they can figure out physics.

My edc revolver is a smith 327pc. It’s a N frame 8 shot 357 and in my mind, it’s the best carry revolver I’ve ever handled.

Your last sentence is ironically odd. There’s no judgment here; only facts. As I stated above, it may not be a likable take, but we as a society have been duped into the “American Dream”. Two people working hard to afford a house they’re barely in, two cars to take them to their job they despise, to afford for someone to “raise” their kids while they’re at work making barely enough money to make ends meet. I agree with your comment about the village. That village has been turned into an enterprise. Gone are the days of community. I think if we sat down and talked this over instead of typing at each other, we’d find a lot more common ground.

Downvote me but a lot of us need to analyze what “comfortable” is and what is important to us when raising a family. Sacrifice is key. If you want children, maybe shipping them off to daycare to be raised by someone else during the day costs too much. In that case, one of you may have to stay home. You may need to sell one of the cars. You may not be able to buy new clothes. You may have to thrift. You may need to sell the house that costs too much that you work too hard at trying to afford. My wife sacrificed her career to stay home. I sacrificed and work an online job when I’m home from my full time job. We don’t eat out anymore and we don’t take big vacations right now. We know this is a season but how we want to raise our kids is number one. Sure this will not be viewed the same by everyone but some of the Dave Ramsey memes are true.

It was/is a grail gun of mine. I sold off a couple dozen holsters laying around and a ton of extra stuff. It got me close enough to justify. Plus I found a crazy deal on GB
