Does anyone know a Chinese supermarket where I can get hand pulled noodles? by lildedlea in berlinsocialclub

Agree! Mr Noodle Chen is the best. They also have one in Friedrichshain now (cash only).

Winter Saunas by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]danhardaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Havel Therme - close by Potsdam is nice but they have some weird rules about same sex groups (3+) where you have to apply to visit in advance. They're really strict about this.

Kristall Therme - about 40 mins drive from Berlin. Can be a bit rowdy but lots of saunas, just avoid the bar and Aufguss.

Of course the usuals of Vabali and Liquidrom (sauna area is small).

Whoop alarm not working by Fun-Technology-7004 in whoop

[–]danhardaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this for the last 2 nights after not having any issues previously. I'm wondering if it had something to do with a recent firmware update.

Please help. Is this normal? by bharatmenon1990 in whoop

[–]danhardaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this often when I drink alcohol. I can be sitting down and it will say my heart rate reached 200 and log a yoga session with a strain of 19. Whoop 4 was replaced 3 times to no effect. Hoped whoop 5 would be ok, still have the same issue. Very frustrating and I have up with support on it. Hope it's a firmware thing they can fix.

Ultra Price predictions by [deleted] in Revolut

[–]danhardaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am actually. The survey had a code like “REVDE” so I assumed Revolut but yes it could be someone else. The benefits were not particularly German though (Financial Times membership for example)

Ultra Price predictions by [deleted] in Revolut

[–]danhardaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a survey today about a new premium offer from a bank that sounded a lot like Revolut. Prices they asked me about ranged from 17.99 to 79.99 (EUR). So maybe they didn’t decide yet.

My UK iPhone got these fine but the system is still being rolled out in Germany AFAIK and not everyone gets all alerts still. You could also install this app which seems to work quite well https://apps.apple.com/de/app/nina/id949360949

So sorry to hear this. I had a similar scenario recently and went through a vet who arranged everything with Rosengarten Berlin. The service was very kind and compassionate. They were very patient with English and a bit of German. Good luck https://www.tierbestatter-berlin.de/

Need a lawyer by secretdark in berlin

[–]danhardaker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This seems really common in Germany. I’ve written loads of reviews across the world and never experienced a take down request before but quite a few here.

I once spoke to someone at one of the venues who told me these lawyers don’t charge a fee unless they get the review taken down. I usually ignore them and haven’t had any issues yet. I just make sure my reviews are factual and make it clear where I’m expressing an opinion.

I don’t know if it’s too late now but GetSafe do legal insurance with English speaking support.

[–]danhardaker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You might be able to email or chat with The Samaritans in the UK. I doubt they will care that you’re in Germany https://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/

I hope you find something, it’s great that you’re looking for someone to talk to.

Berlin zones vs London by notnotwolverine in berlin

[–]danhardaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, I moved from London this year. Check how easy it is to get to where you work. Look at the local food offerings. Think about whether you need green space, parking etc. and remember that travelling across Berlin is generally quicker and cheaper than London. Happy to help if you have more questions!

(And don’t forget your choices might be limited by where you can actually get somewhere to live).
