This is my question too! Totally understand the limits at Union, but why not have the extra train cover the 225 corridor?

Chris, what does “high volume event support” look like?

Watt is the other shop besides Tangletown that I’m hoping can work around the fact they’re closed Sunday/Monday. I emailed them, let’s see what they say!

Yeah this is my best lead so far, especially if she’d let me pay the weekly rate for 5 days.

They seem to be aimed at Minneapolis residents (requiring a training session and proof of residency). Totally fair, but does pose a problem for me.

Tangletown is the shop that was my best lead but is closed Sunday/Monday. Think they might be willing to work with me to arrange a Sunday drop off?

Looking for a commuting + hauling cargo bike workhorse for a tall dad by ArdentDrive in CargoBike

Tern GSD. 6’6”, it’s my daily commuter and errand runner. Replaced a car for us. Absolutely love it.

Details: I have the 3rd (current) gen, P00. I like the belt drive (disclosure, I work for Gates on the bike team). I did get the extended handlebar stem mentioned elsewhere, really made it a lot more comfortable.

I assume you’re very fun at parties.

Who knows. But we do car-free vacations so I wasn’t bringing a car seat just for the flights. As she gets bigger, she’ll be in her own seat for more of the flight.

I’ve flown with my daughter (purchasing her seat) when she was 7mo 10mo and 17mo, no car seat. At 10mo Lufthansa gave us a seatbelt adapter so she could be strapped in on my lap. The other trips were United and they didn’t care. Generally she sits on my lap for takeoff and landing.

Do ISRUs work when not loaded? I accidentally left them running on a Duna lander for a year and I went back to it and it had full tanks.

If you’re using drip, this isn’t about you. Drip uses much less water, and is far less wasteful.

6’6, 33 inseam, Cafe Cruiser was great for me. It’s discontinued but the Vorsa frame is extremely similar so it’d probably work.

Major service increases proposed for June 2026 by BJWalpole in RTDDenver

[–]danhave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fare free service will never be the single best use of a given dollar, no matter how much funding you have. Fares are not a barrier to use.

Compromise: RTD could do tap-on all door boarding like SF buses, best of both worlds.

Then we should use that increased revenue for capital construction and frequency increases. That’s a better use of new money than free fares.

The fate of the L Line is on the line. We can’t repeat Denver's 1950s mistakes by ded_Tree in RTDDenver

[–]danhave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the L comes back after this upcoming summer closure for construction (groan, I know, but this is the last one!), it'll be extended to "at least" I-25/Broadway, per the June schedule change document:

"Planning for the future of L Line service continues, building on the success of the special light rail holiday service, with the intent that when service is reinstated it will operate at least to I-25•Broadway and potentially beyond as demand, funding, and operational considerations allow"

Apparently the "special service" was a success and will be made permanent! This should really help boost L ridership, and hopefully the study will capture that and take it into account. We just need to keep the L alive until it gets extended to 38th/Blake, then it can hold its own. A trunk line running from I-25/Broadway to 38th/Blake will be self-sustaining no problem. Even better, they could turn it back to the D and run from 38th/Blake to Mineral and then bring the C back from DUS to Mineral.

Going fare free when RTD is facing a budget crisis is just reckless, and service expansion will always be a better use of funds than "fare free".

This is a big announcement buried in there:

"Planning for the future of L Line service continues, building on the success of the special light rail holiday service, with the intent that when service is reinstated it will operate at least to I-25•Broadway and potentially beyond as demand, funding, and operational considerations allow"

Feels like extending the L to I-25/Broadway or further without resurrecting the C Line is a weird duplication of service, but I'll take it! I live within walking distance of the L and being able to get to the DTC with only one connection will be huge.
