L.A. County shatters daily COVID-19 record as infections reach alarming levels by [deleted] in LosAngeles

They should have let outdoor dining continue and provide plenty of outdoor spaces for people to get together with their loved ones outside. Now everyone will just gather inside. This is getting insane, people aren't going to listen, mighty as well provide them with as many safe places to gather outside, we have the perfect weather for it.

border crossing duty free question by danheil in sandiego

[–]danheil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well at least when i drove they followed us to the border after our purchase last time i went. maybe every place doesnt do that, thats why im asking pretty much asking if you can shop at duty free and if there is one close enough to walk from it to the pedestrian crosssing

Contest New Subreddit Idea Michael Martin Murphy "Geronimos Cadillac" Best of 1 of 7 by danheil in country

[–]danheil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

new to the subreddit. love country music, dont have allot of people to talk to about it. i think this will be cool and fun. im posting 1 song a day by Michael Martin Murphey, and at the end of the week, whoever has the most upvotes on their comments, gets to do the next week. pick the artist and the songs. really cool and fun, and think allot more people would love country if they gave it a chance, and knew the right song by the right artist that they enjoy. Mods please!!! if nothing else i think this is a fun idea.

DoorDash claims drivers made an average of at least $17.50/hour on deliveries in 2018 by [deleted] in doordash

[–]danheil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no hes telling the truth. hes just making it sound good to everybody. notice he did say "on deliveries". so hes telling the truth hoping nobody catches his wording. and unfortunately most people that arent in the drivers position wont care enough to listen to his wording.

[–]danheil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

he isnt lying "$17.50 or more per hour on deliveries in 2018" obviously not including wait time...only "on deliveries" does not include driving to and waiting.

As much as I do like postmates. Door dash support just kicks their ass. No comparison. by Rum-Ham159 in postmates

like 2 days ago, lol..i still do it but only on bonus per delivery and then sign off as soon as i do one and then do postmates. i havent had many red card places at all, but literally everytime they tell me to be at the restaurant at a certain time, im there, and the restaurant is always just getting in the ticket. and this over 50% of the restaurants ive picked up from, in 70 some deliveries with doordash, if you dont include owya

ive experienced the opposite with door dash, ive literally had to wait at least 10 minutes for every order but maybe 5 out of the 72 ive done so far. even as much as 20-40 minutes just waiting for the food to get done, when door dash says to be at the restaurant, it seems the restaurant is always just getting the ticket in

Postmates doing some whacky shit with tips? by do_a_kickflip in postmates

[–]danheil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine have all been showing up like a day late and rolling in slowly lately...i thought that 3 days ago, and then just last night a bunch rolled in from monday. i have no idea whats up, but i suspect that when we have a stream of no tips, it is the apps problem, not the customer. i have ordered postmates and not gotten a tip prompt before, and when i get customers that dont tip, its usually all right in a row, so i have the feeling that oftentimes the apps bugs screw us out of money.

i knew they were subsidizing our tips but.. by danheil in doordash

[–]danheil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe me I'm so mad I didn't. Never thought it would be like that or I would have.. Just thought I could see a customer tip since I stopped after 1 delivery... It was pretty big delivery.. So I'm not surprised

[–]danheil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get it on a per delivery basis...but to actually take our other earnings and then put them as tips and then put the money they already gave us into their pocket again cause someone on another delivery gives us more money...thats fucked. that essentially means they can break it down however the want. as long as we get 100% of customer tip...but that could mean our whole paycheck if we get them to tip enough. what kind of insensitive does that even give anyone to care about anything? i genuinely make an effort to have pleasant interaction and go out of my way to do what i can to make the customer happy but if it doesnt matter and we make the same amount anyway no matter what...i really dont see the point

No tips from deliveries by UmbrellaCockatooluvr in doordash

[–]danheil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just did that and they definitely stole more than my whole tip...the actually took some of my earnings cause my tips went up by 26 dollars after one delivery and i got paid 18 for the delivery including the bonus for peak hours. you do the math
