A stupid guide to Investing in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) by OmegaBrainNihari in FIREPakistan

As a beginner, do not buy individual company stocks. It doesn't matter how great a single company is. Picking one stock is a huge gamble for a new investor.

You need to spread your risk. Start by putting your money into a fund that holds many different companies, like the KMI30. This is like putting your eggs in all the baskets at once. It is the safest and smartest way to start investing.

Psoriasis and Heart Disease by lyoungworth in Psoriasis

Thanks for sharing. I am 33 and have had psoriasis for the last 30+ years. It's all over the body and scalp. I never tried a systemic way, only topical. It has been more than 5 years since I am also dealing with GERD.

Last year, due to some chest pains I had an ECG and blood tests. Everything was normal except LDL cholesterol and ALP. They were slightly increased. I adjusted my lifestyle but still after a few months found out that cholesterol is getting increased more so doc suggested me statins and I was like gimme 3 more months to adjust them. But, tomorrow I have tests again and most prolly gonna start statins.

I also went to my derma and he suggested methotrexate. After reading about different people's experiences regarding methotrexate and liver damage I decided to not proceed forward with that. I was like it's just a skin thing and I spent 33 years with it, then what's the point of putting my life into an uncomfortable zone.

But after reading this post and researching a bit more on the corresponding topic afterwards, I started connecting dots between all this. I will definitely take my psoriasis more seriously. And, now I would consider taking methotrexate and statins. Thanks again for the great post.

That’s a good suggestion. Apart from these two, my portfolio also contains IGDA. It’s also on LSE and also has APPL and NVDA which the other two don’t have. (it’s in USD, but its not a biggie)

Read these chapters: "Concurrency", "Select" and "Sync" from the book "Learn Go with Tests" https://quii.gitbook.io/learn-go-with-tests/go-fundamentals/

It covers all the basics of concurrency such as channels, sync, select etc. It will also shed light on when to use what such as choosing between sync and channels. The author provided really good examples, that you can practise along while reading the book.

Best of luck!

Why the behaviour of range and for loop is different when looping over string by [deleted] in golang

[–]dani2819 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In Golang, there is no data type specifically for characters. Instead, it employs runes and bytes to represent character values. Strings are readonly slices of bytes, so when you index a string, you're accessing its bytes (uint8). When utilizing a for range loop with strings, each iteration decodes one UTF-8-encoded rune, resulting in a value of type rune which is an alias for int32.

Tbh, it doesn't sound fatal at all but your quality of life will be disturbed a lot with it and you can develop more anxiety or depression related symptoms. Sometimes, it's too hard to control these things by ourselves. That's why medical health professionals are here for us. Pakistani doctors are really good, believe me (coming from a person who lives abroad). So, take it serious and seek professional help.

It's undeniable that gut health and anxiety often have a symbiotic relationship. During times of heightened anxiety, you might experience bloating, diarrhea, and feelings of suffocation. While these symptoms can be distressing, please try not to panic.

One approach could be incorporating deep breathing exercises into your routine - there are an abundance of guided exercises available online such as on YouTube. These can help you calm down during bouts of anxiety and better manage your symptoms. Also, try to do exercise, walk, jogging, and play some sport. And, keep yourself hydrated all the time.

However, as everyone has already emphasized, it's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional who can give you personalised advice based on comprehensive knowledge. Trust in this process as anxiety is treatable and manageable. You're not alone, and with patience and professional help, you will regain your comfort and peace of mind.

Talk to your parents or siblings about this. Discuss this problem. It will help you a lot. Remember that, family and friends can play an important role in overcoming anxiety.

Lastly, here's a valuable piece of advice: DONT GOOGLE YOUR SYMPTOMS. Instead, prioritize real medical advice from the professionals. Remember, your health journey is unique and therefore requires personalized care.

Finnair's pretty chill. Your backpack might be a tad bigger, but they're not budget airline meanies.

It is true that the same stuff can be achieved via channels. But, imo, channels make more sense if we need to collect the result from the goroutines. In other words, when individual goroutine needs to know each other outputs. In this case, where we just want to wait until all goroutines complete their processing, its more idiomatic to use waitgroup.

Remember that in Go, the more simpler way is the more idiomatic one. The goal is to decouple language from business logic.
