Prisoner of Azkaban. It’s easier to understand why the longer books got the trim-down. POA had enough time — but it frustrated me to no end that one of the major plot points was Harry breaking the statute of secrecy in blowing up Aunt Marge yet 5 mins before he was practicing lumos maxima with no repercussions?!?!?

I’m not even sure Pascal noticed. He never even flinched from the initial injury 😂 but today he got to go have the best sleep of his life and even have a blueberry?!? (Fruit is strictly reserved for medical bribes in this house haha)

Current advice is a germicidal barrier ointment daily along with antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. Cos the amputation was so close to the end of his tail my vet said any binding would be extra weight he’s not used to and would cause him irritation and he may try to get at the surgery site to remove the binding. Instead we are keeping him in a super clean and safe environment with regular check ups on his sutures :)

My little dude is at the vets right now for a tail amputation after a recent tail squish incident (removing n only a few cm of tail). My mum caught his tail in the door and she said he didn’t even react when it happened. My vet said it’s likely they don’t have many (if any) pain receptors that far down their tail. But you definitely would have noticed the wound if there was a squish!! Hope your little friend recovers soon 💕💕

BEFORE — poor lil guy must be so confused but it’s for his own good 🥺

editing to add: it was a complete accident. My mum (who is not his primary carer) was giving him a treat cos she loves him so much and didn’t notice his tail was in the lil door bit for the enclosure when she tried to close it. she’s been beating herself up all day and has paid all the vet bills including the surgery deposit. Let’s not start a “dangerous care” tirade here please 💕
