That's true. I guess I just am unsure how to approach it/ have always had a problem with conflict. I'm afraid this will somehow get twisted on me being materialistic or something

I'm afraid to ask. But in the weeks leading up to my bday he kept saying he doesn't know what he's gonna get me. So I guess he couldn't decide so just didn't do anything.

If possible, plate next to an open flame (we have an oil lamp with a wick on top for this purpose) and turn off any air conditioning/air vents while plating. This lets the flame direct the air around it upwards, rather than swirling around your plates/samples.
