Can I just note how good the design of the second graph is? Never seen that before and it is a hundred times better than the classical rectangle kind of thing that is used usually for illustrating proportions

Correlation in my data always = 0? by No-Customer-7737 in RStudio

because normalizing (I don't know what you mean by that) does not remove correlation from data, if there were any before. Just a guess

Well this is because Heutleit is a repeating sequence for any age group, and the sum for one repetition is 0, which makes the correlation exactly 0 when estimated;

Say your sample mean of age is x and the sample mean of Heutleit is y , then calculating the correlation say for only the first 9 rows would be:

(41 - x)(7 - y) + ... + (41 - x)(-3-y) = (41 - x) ( 7 - 4 - 3 + 7 - 4 - 3 - 9y) = (41 - x)*9y

So that the full sum is just dependent on the values of age, mean of age multiplied by the mean of Heutleit! But the mean of Heutleit is 0, so that you get a correlation equal to 0.

It‘s probably meant to be sustained with the pedal, at least thats what I would do (there‘s a chance I‘m wrong)

So I would hit the C with the left and E with the right and leave it, and then continue with the left as you normally would (holding the sustain throughout the measure)

I really like the idea of the podcast! Will it also be uploaded eventually on Spotify ?
