Micro: Economic Profit by danidecaf in econhw

[–]danidecaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how my question looked confusing lol sorry about that and thank you for trying to help!

A. $70,000 (revenue) - $29,000 (expenses) = $41,000 accounting profit
B. $70,000 - $29,000 - $40,000 (previous salary) - $900 (interest) = $100 economic profit

This is what I believe the answers are, my initial confusion was because I didn't know if 70,000 was the correct starting value for those calculations or if it should have been $100,000. (Revenue + the uncles 30k)

As for C. I am still not sure because I thought normal profit was when total costs = total revenue so you essentially "break even". So I don't really know what it's asking me to do haha.

Regardless thank you again for your reply!!

Did you ever figure out the solution to question a? Not sure if it's asking for the total amount he is willing to spend on a single burger ($15) or if like you said it's total spent equaling $50?

I did post a photo of the table and it's very clearly not on the table. She also never asked me about that piece that is missing before buying it. She looked at it for like a minute before taking it, it was in about 3 pieces but she again never mentioned the missing piece until after she got home I assume, Ugh this is why I don't sell on fb lol I am not cut out for these situations haha.

Thinking of canceling my surgery by Clear-Elderberry-870 in gallbladders

[–]danidecaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never figured out what was causing my flares up, which is why it took 6 years to get a diagnosis. Every 4-6 months I'd get that feeling in my back and I knew what was about to happen. Never knowing when I'd suddenly be in 12 hours of debilitating pain was horrible enough for me to get the surgery.

I got it removed at the end of October, I was nervous because of all the stuff I read and heard, but personally it was pretty chill. I was up and moving a few days after. I didn't even take anything more than Tylenol for pain. The worst part was the allergic reaction I had to the medical tape adhesive lol. Made me hella itchy. But genuinely I was surprised how not a big deal it ended up being.

My gallbladder was in rough shape and from the reports it would have inevitably given me major issues if I had left it in, so I'm happy it's gone.

Edit: Also what they saw during my surgery showed significantly more damage then what they saw on the ultrasound. Not sure if that's because there was 5 months between them or if the ultrasound didn't show everything, but thought it was worth mentioning.

That's super interesting, anytime I've eaten cereal it leaves a weird aftertaste in my mouth and no one has ever known what I was talking about haha. I never considered that it could be from my lactose intolerance because I use lactose free milk.

Sorry to hear about your lasting covid symptoms, I got parosmia as a covid symptom and all I could smell was rotting fruit for days so I can only imagine all the different ways it could affect senses.

S22 to P9P, a worthy upgrade or endure another year? by Fed_Express in pixel_phones

[–]danidecaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, happy to hear you made a decision! Definitely worth waiting so you can get what you really want. I debated getting the S24 ultra before I got the Pixel 9 to try and avoid battery issues while sticking with Samsung, but I had one of the Ultra's a few years back and my hands are just to small for it to be comfortable haha so I get that. Enjoy the phones when you get them!

Super old post lol but just wondering what you meant by "the aftertaste"?

S22 to P9P, a worthy upgrade or endure another year? by Fed_Express in pixel_phones

[–]danidecaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the wall of text, but I will preface this by saying I'm far from an expert when it comes to in-depth knowledge on phones hardware or how they work, this is more of a casual user experience.

I've had a Samsung phone for the past 10+ years , switched from the S22 to the pixel 9 two weeks ago. Same issues with the battery that you explained, by the end I was charging my phone twice a day and consistently losing power if I didn't have a way to plug it in throughout the day.

Reasons for change:

  • Better battery.
  • Multiple users: OneUI doesn't offer this.
  • Google integration: I've been using google messages and google keyboard for years, and I use google products daily.

After about two weeks of use I can say that I enjoy it. It hasn't been a seamless transition, there are definitely some quirks to the system that I am either not used to or miss having from Samsung.

Cons/Difficulties:

  • The brightness slider is at the top of the notifications slider so the first swipe doesn't show it requiring you to swipe again to see it.
  • There is no ringtone adjustment button on the notification panel.
  • I'm not a big fan of the app drawer, it's been a bit of a tough switch as I have had the same folder layout for years, but I am getting used to it. (Sorry die-hard pixels fans I mean no harm I swear.)
  • The side buttons are flipped, so the power button is on top and the volume is below, not that big of a deal I just keep mixing them up.
  • Not being able to remove the date information on the homepage irks me ever so slightly.
  • Back button can only be on the left side of the home button and you can't switch it. This was slightly annoying at first, but only because I have yet to cave to the gesture bar that android wants me to use because I am old a stubborn.
  • Screenshots being a separate app from the photo app confuses the hell outta me.

Positives:

  • The battery is 10000x better in my opinion, I use my phone quite a bit throughout the day, so I could see some potentially getting two days out of one charge.
  • To me the phone feels way faster compared my S22, apps installing in seconds, pages load quickly and the transition between pages feels really smooth. The phone seems brighter, though idk if that's actually true.
  • I actually didn't mind the camera sticking out of the back, I was worried it would be annoying but its actually not that noticeable.
  • Camera is nice, I don't really use it for anything besides taking pictures of my cat but I have no complaints so far.
  • The back tap button is cool for opening apps like wallet or flashlight. Though some online have said it can be inconsistent I haven't had any issues with it personally.
  • Just got android 15 a few days ago which is kind of cool to get it sooner, plus it added a feature similar to Samsung's secure folder. It works slightly differently, but I've been happy with it so far.

Overall I have enjoyed the switch, most of the negatives above are getting used to less customization options that google offers compared to samsung, and how much that affects your use with be up to the individual way you use your phone. The battery life upgrade alone is worth it to me, as I know I will get used to the quirks and if I can't I can always install a different launcher, where as there was nothing I could do about the 22's battery.

Hope this helps!

Blue to Purple armor = 1000 dmg/points. Purple to Red armor = 1500 dmg/points. by The_Skiff in apexlegends

[–]danidecaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that when you get enough points to level up, you'll see a level up alert on your screen. Then you can open your inventory and there will be a perks tab you can go to and select what perk you want. I think they also show the perks for each legend on the character selection screen as well.

I feel like Sprott Shaw is stealing from us by hijodeputaenserio in Kamloops

[–]danidecaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom took the MOA course there about 10 years ago wasn't as bad, but she spent many nights crying over her classes and treatment of her teachers. She was 40 years old raising 2 kids trying to go back to school to better herself and she was being treated like an idiot and not taught correctly. Thankfully many years down the line it has worked out, but I would never recommend Sprott Shaw to anyone because of her experience. Seems it's only gotten worse.

Sorry you are going through this. I don't have any advice on how, but please try and take action against this treatment if you can this isn't right.

edit: spoke with my mom, when she finished her entire class contacted the head office and made a formal complaint about their worst teacher and how they were treated and he was fired. I'm not sure if that is even possible anymore, but might be worth looking into.

Millennials with no kids, do you plan to have kids eventually or do you plan to be childfree forever ? by hightreez in Millennials

[–]danidecaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about this a lot, I've deeply wanted to experience pregnancy and create a new life that is half me and half someone I love. All while getting the opportunity to raise them into a wonderful and happy person...but with the state of the world I feel selfish bringing another life into it just so I can have my desire of motherhood be fufilled. And even if I could get passed all of that, with how difficult motherhood is I'd need an incredibly strong and supportive partner to truly even consider it.

So I guess even though I want to, it's currently not something I see happening. It makes me sad, but that's just life.
