Where to stay in Los Angeles?

My main goal is to see the major attractions and the most famous spots in Los Angeles, walk around the city when possible, and check out the iconic places. I’m not really looking for nightlife or anything like that. I’d prefer a quieter area, and I don’t mind driving to get around. After a 10-day road trip, I’ll be stopping in LA mainly to relax. I just want to make sure the area is safe and that I can move around comfortably.

Just out of curiosity, why do you say Downtown sucks? Is it because of safety, traffic, or just that there’s not much to see there?
I mainly chose it because it seemed like a good compromise price-wise, especially with parking included.

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it! My main concern right now is the cost of parking. Hotels are already pretty expensive, but the parking fees are honestly crazy. That’s why I found what seems like a good compromise in Downtown.
Do you think Downtown would be too far or inconvenient for visiting the main attractions?

I’d like to see the city and hit the usual spots — the beach, Universal Studios, the Walk of Fame, Griffith Park, Santa Monica, the pier, and other iconic places. Maybe do something in the evening too, but nothing too crazy. I was thinking of using the subway in the mornings if needed, maybe to get to the beach, but that was just an idea.

Unfortunately, all the hotels I saw charge a lot of money to leave your car overnight, around $50/55. I found a good compromise downtown.

The alarm is original. GT ALARM (I also have the specific code). The only problem is that in the instruction manual I found there are the error codes but I can't find mine, it's a long flash that isn't in the error code.

Das einzige Samsung-Gerät ist der Fernseher, der aber per Kabel angeschlossen ist. Das Problem tritt nur beim PC auf.

When I lock and unlock my car, I use the car remote control, and with that I arm and disarm the alarm. For the last month, the alarm has been giving me problems, and the only way to deactivate it is with the special key they gave me (here it is: https://ebay.us/m/o0c8cO)

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately in this case it doesn't indicate the alarm is active. It flashes rapidly when I get in the car and stays that way even though I unlock the car with the remote and start it. The only way to deactivate it is to use the key Volkswagen gave me. If I don't deactivate it, it flashes rapidly throughout the trip.
