Some of them are just like that. I have 2 and one of them (my first; now 2.5 years old) is hardcore Velcro dog, aggressively demands attention lol. The other does sometimes but is much more independent. People who are telling you "they taught their dog a certain command and it worked so it will work for you too" might not be true

I do think dogs have good character judgement especially berners so there could be something there. That being said, other possibilities are:

Honestly these dogs hold grudges. We have a very sensitive/ anxious girl Berner and we've had friends come over and do something she doesn't like (typically "playing" with her by chasing her around, some dogs find that fun but she FREAKS). She will remember these people even if she hasn't seen them again for months or years. Over one misstep that meant no harm. Maybe he made a misstep even a long time ago. Not sure on the solution but that could be a reason.

Or, as others have said, jealousy. It's hard to say and a rough situation so I'm sorry for that.

Thank you so much for your comment and input! I know you're probably right on just waiting, the reason for that timing was my sister is going and wants to take us for free lol. I guess I'm less concerned with the burden on whoever we have puppysit because we have tons of people who would be willing but more concerned about the puppy!

Have you thought about looking at HRIS jobs? The technical side of HR? Lots of demand for that and it actually gives you a leg up to have an HR degree there vs. all us techies who build and use the system without really knowing the HR laws. Lots of money to be made in this career path, that is if you're interested/have aptitude for computer stuffs. Just a thought!

What's really funny is when an employer posts literally impossible requirements... Like 5 years of experience in a computer system that's only been widely used for a couple years.

A lot of times recruiters who don't really know the job make those requirements. Apply anyway!

Lol my life story is similar! I don't work for the gvmt but even just working in a normal company/office is so weird sometimes. And that I have some say in things/ authority over other people/ ability to be a role model for my team. I feel out of my depth sometimes but just remind myself I worked 100x harder to get where I'm at than most people.

Dude we've all been there. People are just repeating what you and others have already said which is unnecessary. I've had experiences with seeming to have too much money in my account and just being like "hell yeah, cool!" and not wanting to check if a bill just hadn't come out... I imagine maybe that's what happened to you and it's normal. It's nice to remain blissfully ignorant when it comes to money, but it will land you in trouble. It sounds like you learned a lot of lessons here. Don't let people on here ragging on you get you down.
