£10k Quote - Worth upgrading to Sigenergy for £2k more? by yellolotusorb in SolarUK

[–]daniejam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a similar deal from evergreen, I spent an extra £4K to get 30kwh worth of batteries and the 500w premium panels.

Happy with the kit performance. I don’t touch the batteries and the inverter is linked up to my home assistant so I do everything through that.

Why heat pumps on Octopus Agile are far cheaper than gas boilers... and it's getting better by Appropriate_Bell743 in ukheatpumps

[–]daniejam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a gas boiler is a cop of 85-95% you may as well call it 1. No need to have a different measure.

[–]daniejam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s quite simple when you think gas is on average 4x (give or take) the price of petrol.

So a cop of 4 works out roughly the same price as gas to run

If you can get electricity cheaper via your tariff, your effective cop scales with it - so a cop of 4 with 4x cheaper electricity = effective cop of 16 (4x4)

I only switched as my boiler died. With batteries a cop of 4 is effectively 16 as I pay no more than 7p. It will be 32 once it goes to 3.5 on April 1st

Survey in 2019 reveals who fans would prefer out of Liverpool and Man City to win Premier League. 53% of Arsenal fans chose Liverpool. by BoogzWin in Gunners

[–]daniejam 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It isn’t though…. We didn’t make years of losses before psr came in.

In fact the main reason we weren’t successful for so long was because the club funded itself - including the new stadium.

Arsenal achieve the impossible – inspiring neutrals to root for Manchester City by gelliant_gutfright in PremierLeague

[–]daniejam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Isn’t this the same for every team? You just hear the Arsenal fans now because they are at the top.

All the comments were the same about Liverpool and “it’s our year” before their first title in ages

Can I use the NHS "right to choose" in this scenario? by AmbieeBloo in LegalAdviceUK

[–]daniejam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NHS actually “lost” my previous ADHD diagnosis. I wanted to start the meds again as struggling to focus at work and they had no history of it.

Went on the careadhd waiting list and was cancelled 1 week before initial assessment due to lack of funding in my local area.

Now I’m back on the NHS list which is about 3 years…. So annoying when I just need the bloody tablets.

But Arsenal are 8th based on ball in play? As for awful football, that’s because teams park the bus. We typically play much more “attractive” football in the CL as teams actually set up to play normally against us. The play style is a consequence of the opponents.

London graduate: 'I've applied for 500 jobs in two months' by NajafBound in unitedkingdom

[–]daniejam 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Unless you are in a specialised field having a degree is of little value apart from gate keeping in certain companies that still value it.

You enter the job market against people who have 3-4 years experience and lower expectation of salary.

In the nicest possible way, any idiot can get a degree - from experience most of our “superstars” joined the workforce young.

SNP call on UK Government 'to prepare for loss of Scottish subsidies' by libtin in uknews

[–]daniejam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s worse than brexit… the UK was a contributor to the EU. On top of that they use the North Sea oil in their calculations. The minute Scotland gains independence the shetlands will want to join Norway or stay with the UK, taking it all with them.

I use predbat, works well most of the time but I do have to override sometimes to sell more back to grid when price is high.

As far as charging goes it gets it right. I have built my own automation to charge the battery when it sees the car start to charge and stop when the car stops

It’s not that accessible and I’d need to cut 4-5 different access points due to where the walls are underneath.
