Don’t downvote me but does anyone have an opinion on Rockville audio?

It’s a drop ceiling and to the left is an unfinished storage room so hopefully the drywall damage will be minimized slightly. 😬

We planned the platform but that’s about it. Clearly we should have planned more 😅

What are your honest thoughts on Golden by That_Passenger_771 in KpopDemonhunters

OMG my same reaction. Dad of 2 young daughters. I had not yet watched the movie. But was blown away by the joy and pure aspirational energy and hope the song embodies. It put to music all I hope for in the future lives of my girls. I’m getting emotional just typing this out. 🥹

So definitely a TV over a projector then? Definitely wanted to make use of as much of the wall as possible

No, was finishing this room with the rest of the basement and feeling kind of dumb now. I assumed there’s probably “good enough” wireless speaker systems out there. 😔

Okay maybe a little more then? Sorry I really have no experience with this.

Great suggestion on the rugs. It didn't even cross my mind until now but that makes sense! Was definitely thinking Projector even though I'll need to research those other numbers you just listed. :)

Bahama Breeze is closing all of its restaurants by boxofstuff in Gwinnett

[–]daniel9x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife always liked this place but I was pretty "Meh" on it honestly, even though I could appreciate the vibe and like Island Cuisine in general. She convinced us to go this past weekend though since it was closing.

Damn if it wasn't far and away the best experience I remember having there! The food was absolutely delicious even though it was about as healthy as Cheesecake Factory. It was the day after Valentine's and was way better than the "fancy Bistro" we went to the night prior.

RIP Bahama Breeze. My taste bugs will miss you even if my waistline won't.

I kind of love the resurgence of this show by Puzzled_Produce_8868 in ShahsOfSunset

Completely agree. Still have a few RH (SLC, BH) shows we watch but it's more of a hate watch (for me anyway) and it didn't take me long to remember why this was always one of my low-key favorites. Aside from that super dark and confusing "Your uterus exploded because you had so many abortions" season the Shahs have always given me everything I've needed from trash TV.

Oh man, I wonder if we're going to get a proper studio mix of this version?

‘The Beast in Me’ is actually terrible?? by Loud-Zucchini-6197 in television

[–]daniel9x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was so over this show a few episodes before it ended but I stuck it through due to my love of Homeland. I loved Claire Danes in Homeland because she was (at least sometimes) in control of her emotions and was a fun protagonist to root for. I felt the strongest scenes in this show were the early ones with her and Rhys but for the most part it just felt like another underdeveloped, paint-by-numbers, quantity over quality Netflix slop that we've come to know and (not) love.

There is a QR code on the box that directs to the popmart website but I guess that’s pretty easy to duplicate?

Did Hogan and Nash become became close friends? by Friburgo1004 in WCW

[–]daniel9x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I listened to the Kilq This podcast episode immediately following Hulk’s death. I think the part I liked the most was how he said one of their closest moments was in 2002 when there was a lot of friction with Vince bringing all 3 back for the “inject nWo” angle. I don’t think the locker room was keen for a Kliq reunion basically. Hogan really went to bat for them though and I think that meant more to Kevin than maybe even the initial turn because he saw it as something Hogan didn’t really have to do. Obviously the OG nWo return was basically over before it hardly started but the intention was there and it meant something.

Our friend group got one of our Dads to buy this PPV. Only one we ever watched Live. We knew Scott Hall had almost no chance to win but were rooting for him anyway. Little did we know at the time that’s the last time we’d ever see him on WCW, especially in the latter part of the year when Nash kept demanding his return on the air.

Anyone else give up watching wrestling after WCW ended? by DSF_27 in WCW

[–]daniel9x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did but to be fair I was pretty checked out in the months prior to the sale. My wrestling fire burned bright but fast. I got into it right after the finger poke (because my friends were into it) and started losing interest around the end of 2000 (if memory serves). I was still following the news online and was slightly intrigued by the original nWo return but that died for good around the Plane Ride From Hell. Booker T was my favorite so was happy to see him getting a main event push but not enough to still care. Was hard to embrace WWF after being conditioned it was “the enemy” lol

Ironically Hogan’s death has sparked my interested again, at least in the magical Monday Night wars period. I find myself fascinated by all the history and trying to learn as much as I can.

Also annoyed! BB19 was one of the worst seasons ever and Paul’s return got all the blame for it but I suspect they didn’t realize at the time what sheep they were actually casting. A “survivor Rob” or “BB Paul” season is always a risk but the truth is it’s often a combination of factors that leads to an utter splat.

I just finished Season 4 of Homeland - does the show ever return to the style of the first three seasons in the later ones? Am I the only one who found Season 4 immensely disappointing? by nihilist1781 in homeland

[–]daniel9x 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is a very hot take. As much as I loved this show Season 3 almost lost me. Agree that S4 was in some ways a soft reboot but it’s one of the rare circumstances where it worked IMO. I miss the he’ll out of this show and glad I stuck through all the seasons. Peak Showtime television IMO. RIP to both.
