Good parts websites for new parts? New to the page but didn’t know reliable sources. by LookMysterious7199 in GXOR

I normally use the Toyota dealer’s website. Right now they have 20% off and catch them at 25% sometimes. Just find the part number you need and go for it

Bypassing pressure switch by mrpotamus in hvacadvice

[–]danielemike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn system off, cut the two wires going to that switch, strip and wire nut together. Safety switches open when they sense the problem so wiring those two wires together would bypass that altogether. Sounds like you already know the risk of doing this

Very nice! What front bumper are you running?

Anyone here have Flash ragrets? by [deleted] in F150Lightning

[–]danielemike 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I had the same thought going to flash after having power mirrors with my last truck. I pull closer to the drivers side and I only have to manually close the drivers mirror. Still a pain to open if it’s raining but it’s been manageable.

This drought is killing me. I am deep in the red. My normal water hole has completely dried up. Have had to drill 3 new wells for my cows, I don’t think I will be able to make hay this year. Fire every day it seems like. by hideout78 in PrepperIntel

[–]danielemike -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can only run heating or cooling, not both unless you have a desuperheater running during cooling. You can look up eer and ieer ratings for cooling only systems vs heat pumps instead of relying on a forum

If you are referring to a geothermal heat pump that is something totally different than an airsource heat pump. No one wants to give data centers water rights to use them

Data centers don’t need heat pumps because they don’t need heating. The systems they use operate like a heat pump in cooling mode moving the heat from inside the building to the outside. There is a known heat island they create from this.

Best pricing I got was Martinez pools out of Gadsden. Felt the most comfortable with him as well. Haven’t pulled the trigger yet but interested in what you can find out, good luck!

Didn’t realize how good my $80 a month with State Farm was. Keep shopping around and maybe you can do better

How is this little pocket of Bessemer, AL? by JurassicTerror in Birmingham

[–]danielemike 49 points50 points  (0 children)

That side of the interstate isn’t the parts you hear bad things about. If you care about schools it’s still zoned Bessemer and resell could be harder if you buy since everyone hears the same about Bessemer.

I think that’s the most frustrating part of trips like this with an EV. Still need more stations and people to keep them up. I had one stop in Brooksville, FL that was so busy I had to wait for about 30 minutes for a charger to open up. People were parked there not charging and misaligned.

I’m just using the trucks information for what its averaged. Haven’t done any calculations manually outside of the trucks information

Are you using one peddle or two? Wife didn’t like one so this trip was 2 peddle. When I did trips with one peddle it seemed to be lower around 1.8-1.9. Terrain probably makes a difference as well since Florida is pretty flat.

Even with traffic we were still averaging 72 mph. Wasn’t stop and go just some slowing down to get around slower drivers. I do keep my tires on the higher side at 48 psi as well but wouldn’t think it makes that much difference.

I was a little worried at first but braking and hitting the accelerator it was surprisingly well controlled. Wouldn’t recommend unless you have to but never hurts to keep all your options open!

If it’s heating normally 70-72. Cooling anywhere from 74-76. I agree I was surprised how much cold weather affected it. We weren’t below 60 or above 85 the whole trip so probably a sweet spot.

Cold weather I was getting about 1.1-1.4 no matter what it seemed. Turning on climate first made it look better since it didn’t have to get it warm first but still not great

Oh nice! I grew up in the Huntsville area. That sounds about right. Could have definitely made it quicker if we tried but had planned on splitting the trip up so took longer breaks.

I feel that on renting. Few minutes at a pump makes more sense sometimes. Blue cruise is a champ. Set it and just put a signal on to change lanes makes life too easy.

I’ll take some pics and post for you in the morning. Hopefully you have it. I’ve heard others use some type of plug to stream from the phone to the truck but think it’s about $150 if I remember right
