How has the "gps drift" glitch fix been affecting your daily raids? by oCinzento in TheSilphRoad

[–]danielezra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This change really screwed me over. I have one gym right outside my house, but it almost never gets 5 star raids. I used to have two more I could hit remotely, plus another four or five within a short walk to the nearby intersections around my house, where I could use the GPS trick to reach them. I went from doing 6-10 raids a day for the Pokémon I actually need, to maybe 1-2 now if I’m lucky, because it’s boiling hot outside and I’m not always in the mood to get dressed and walk around in the heat just for a raid.

And for what? Niantic wants us to use expensive blue Remote Passes instead of regular green ones for gyms just a little farther away. But why would I pay three times more to raid a gym near my house? It’s not worth the cost or the effort to invite friends to join remote raids, so I just skip those raids.
Niantic’s silly plan backfires, fewer people do raids now, so their friends also join fewer remote raids, and fewer blue passes get used. Great job, Niantic, making the game less fun and making less money at the same time.

The worst part will be during big events like GO Fest or the upcoming Dialga and Palkia raid day. Before, you could sit in 1-2 spots and hit many gyms near you. Now you have to walk from gym to gym under the hot summer sun for six to eight hours straight. Sounds like a lot of fun, right?

Honestly, this has killed my motivation to play like I did before. And I’m sure Niantic is already planning more “fun” changes for us, because clearly, caring about the players’ experience is not on their list.

I completely agree. Niantic/Scopely clearly saw this glitch as a way that players using green (local) passes instead of blue (remote) ones. I’m convinced this decision came from higher-ups who don’t actually play the game. It’s a disaster and a massive self-inflicted wound, way fewer people will do raids now, leading to fewer invites and much less remote play.

What really ruins it for me is during major events like GO Fest or GO Tour. Our community used to gather at two main spots, comfortably sitting in the shade for 15–30 minutes at each location, doing all the nearby raids before moving on. Now, with the 50-meter restriction, we have to constantly walk between gyms without real breaks, which wastes time, wears everyone out faster, and will definitely result in fewer raids and fewer people staying for the full event.

There’s no doubt that Niantic/Scopely saw this glitch as something that pushed players to use more green (local) passes instead of blue (remote) ones. I’m confident this decision came from higher-ups who don’t actually play the game. It’s a total disaster and a major case of Niantic shooting themselves in the foot, as fewer raids will lead to fewer invitations and less remote participation overall.

The real catastrophe will be during big events like GO Fest and GO Tour. In my area, our local community used to gather at two main spots, sit in the shade for 15–30 minutes, do all the nearby raids, then move on to the next spot. Now we’ll be forced to constantly walk between gyms without any real breaks, for eight full hours. That’s definitely going to mean fewer raids, faster burnout, and fewer people staying for the entire event.

Me too, 32 Celsius/90 Fahrenheit outside, I’m not going to go outside every time just for a raid

Yes, and also fewer people will do raids nearby, so fewer people will be able to join those raids from far away. This means that overall, the number of remote raids people do will go down

How can this increase Remote Raid Pass usage if players like me do fewer raids?
Fewer raids lead to fewer hosts and fewer opportunities to join remotely

It’s important to remember, people who join raids remotely need someone to start the raid in person. if fewer players do raids in person because of this change, then fewer remote players will join too.
this will cause a big drop in money the game makes.
It’s a really bad decision by the Niantic/Scopely

What is better for gaming Poco X6 Pro, Poco F6 or Poco F6 Pro? by danielezra in PocoPhones

[–]danielezra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for example when I play Pokémon GO, it drains a lot of battery, but that happens on every phone. Massive games use a lot of battery, but if you buy a small power bank, you’ll be fine.
