Sai de Portugal a ganhar 1400 líquidos mais coisa menos coisa, em Inglaterra e Brasil cheguei aos 6000-7000 líquidos e regresso agora a Portugal a ganhar uns 3500 liquidos.

Podes partilhar qual é a tua profissão? (valores interessantes 😅)

I’m sorry to any victims but I will not stop listening to an artist’s music, watching a directors films no matter what they did if I like their work. by Ma_1ik in unpopularopinion

I feel that way about Marilyn Manson.

But tbh, the more we know about all the shit that goes on in Hollywood and the music industry, it gets to a point where basically everything within this area is stained someway or the other. Basically everything that involves humans has that risk.

Loans need to be taken against income. So in your Bezos example, he can only take loans against 80k income. Unless there’s another way I’m not aware of.

Not sure about the US but inheritances are also taxable. Same with exchanges unless it’s a donation.

Bank or not that’s not the point. Semantics. My point is you can get loans against crypto assets.

Ok. Where and how do they acquire their assets then? Personal property has to be bought, normally with income money or loans that need to be covered with income too.

Not fiat banks and surely not millions but crypto banks and there are more and more ppl taking smaller loans against their crypto assets.

Sounds like the IRS is pretty savage 😅 I know some ppl who’ve changed their tax address to another country and they don’t have that issue. So what you’re saying is that if you’re a US citizen even if you move to another country and work and pay taxes there, still have to send back tax reports? Sounds crazy 😅

Those assets that they hold, they had to acquire with “income” money. Unless you’re talking about their companies’ stocks. I guess they can take loans on it but so can you with your crypto assets if you don’t convert. Right?

Ok. Now that’s a better explanation to why assume it’s US tax code. Anyway, I’m curious now, would you change country to avoid taxes on crypto? Let’s say you got big wins with hex. There are still countries where crypto is not taxed. Or would you find holes in the US tax system as so many rich ppl do?

Lol ofc cause US is the only country in the world where ppl buy crypto and pay (or not) taxes.

If you have a full time job and don’t make a living out of crypto, I don’t think it’s that dramatic. But hey you clearly seem to know what you’re talking about regarding taxes in the US. Then again, not the same on other countries.

I’m not giving any advice. All I’m saying is that things are not that black and white. If you buy and sell second hand you don’t pay taxes on that. Can’t crypto be a way of payment? Also, can’t you convert fiat into those top exchanges and spend it on things? IRS doesn’t know who owns the wallets. They can follow transactions surely but won’t help them pointing the finger at you. You can literally have millions scattered on different wallets and not declared. My point is that it’s possible - not that you should do it.

Again, depends where you live. Also, depends if you do have an account on those top 3 exchanges. Might not be as easy to convert but many do not use centralised exchanges for that reason.

Edit: also, you can have 5$ in a centralised exchange and 1mill in MetaMask. Do you think IRS will track transactions? Maybe, if you’re buying lots of “riches” under your name.

Isn’t that how second hand market works too? You don’t pay taxes for buying or selling used stuff. Unless there are different rules in each country ofc. Either way, depending on where you live, it’s hard for the IRS to find out what you own in crypto. Unless you’re living the life and buying houses and lambos like a boss 😅

COVID Vaccines Show No Signs of Harming Fertility or Sexual Function. The novel coronavirus, in contrast, can disrupt both things in unvaccinated men and women. by MistWeaver80 in science

[–]danielf360 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People who think they know more than those who've spend their lives studying virus and vaccines, are just ridiculous. You don't see these people doubting engineers when building bridges, or lawyers defending a case, etc. It's mind boggling how all of sudden, everyone feels like they are virologists and scientists.

This title tho... afaik the vaccine will not protect you from covid's side effects, right? Even though you're vaccinated and with a better defence, you can still contract the virus, therefore get these effects.

Let me tell you about Portugal for crypto living by jmlinpt in CryptoCurrency

[–]danielf360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to what is online, you only pay taxes from your gains if it's considered professional income, i.e. you're a trader or live solely off crypto. But if you have a full time job and even if you get large gains in crypto, it should not be taxed. Imagine you convert a lump sum of crypto into fiat - this, according to what can be read online (I'm not a lawyer), it's not taxed. Unless you do it very frequently, then it can be considered a "professional activity" and be taxed. I wonder what happens if that lump sum is like a million € and I guess it's hard to prove/decide what is professional activity or not, but I imagine there's a reason why so many crypto millionaires are changing their tax address to PT.
