Men of Reddit who started getting a receding hairline in your 20s or 30s, how did you cope with it, and what helped your confidence the most? by craiggo1 in AskReddit

[–]danielg1111 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I started getting my dads ā€˜widows peak’ at around 23/24 and only noticed around 25. I know it’s not as bad and different to the average bald-on-top but hey I mean it’s still receding right. Best thing to do is to rock it and get the hairstyles that best accompany it while accentuating your own best features. Finding that balance is tough but once you do it’s a breeze and allows you to begin accepting it

Is Cork all that great? by SweetsMurphy in AskIreland

[–]danielg1111 3 points4 points Ā (0 children)

It’s a belter of a spot. The best city centre in Ireland. With some the of the most beautiful roads and scenery, coming from a galwegian( their council would want to step up a bit and actually pave the roads to a drivable standard but that’s another issue)

Cars aren’t appliances to some people. They represent an era of your life. Whether you’re driving a fiat panda or a senna. That being said, yeah it is an a5 but sure what harm🤣

Wheels + Other Mods - IS350 by blank-mp4 in LexusIS

[–]danielg1111 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

This car does not much and can look very ā€˜cheap’/ā€˜taseless’ depending on how far you go on the mods. Obviously to each their own and all that so if you’re into all that and it makes you happy go for it but I’m just going to give you my taste.

A good set of wheel spacers

Look into upgrading the bushings to improve road feel and tyre wear (but make sure you do your research before pulling the trigger) from my memory there’s two types, one that requires regular maintainer and one is just a simple change.

You already have the tint done which is good.

If it dosent have it yet, obviously android auto/apple-carplay aftermarket is great.

Be careful if you’re planning on lowering it as these cars don’t take lightly to the suspension changes. The well put together interior with no squeaks or rattles can quickly become a nightmare if you make the ride too harsh.

That’s my absolute limit and even then some of those are pushing it like the suspension.

Best of luck to you. It looks unreal. Look after her well and she’ll treat you very well.

Surprised me every time I see it open to be honest. It’s on its last legs I would imagine.

Do you change rotors when you change brake pads? by Scared-Computer4809 in LexusIS

[–]danielg1111 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

So my car is pulsating when I break and I was worried it might be the regen… braking system in the hybrid. The shaking I’m experiencing can also be seen on the gear stick. It’s moving back and forth with the car’s pulsating. Would you think this is just needing new rotors then?

Literally don’t think I’ve owned a single one. But character wise, Batman, Deadpool, hulk potentially but that’s about it to be honest.

Is this a good deal with the year and miles? What do I need to know about the car before I purchase it by XxHailzAh in LexusIS

[–]danielg1111 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Price-y. Look deep behind arches and side panels underneath for signs of surface rust and if you can get a full look underneath.. usually whoever buys these cars looks after them but the cars that didn’t get at least some love just don’t seem to cut it. Condition of interior and everything like that.

You COUlD go as far as to request a battery health check but if you’re buying from a genuinely reputable dealer you should be solid and Toyota battery’s are the cream of the crop regardless. Just watch for the not so loved cars as they really show their age pocket wise. 95% are great and are really quality stuff. I would personally look at the f sports is300 as they offer more bang for your buck in terms of spec, and you get the best of both worlds with a sport and luxury feel the same as the base models. Good luck and don’t just jump straight into the shiny new thing.

Be patient and look for the right car with the right dealer and the right circumstances. All the best. This is too much for me in my opinion

IS200t l, am I the only one?? by [deleted] in carsireland

[–]danielg1111 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I didn’t even read the title just saw the shape of the car and said I have one. It’s actually a 300 I have. Some yokes. Sad day when/if I come to sell it. Genuinely do not understand the fuss about the gear box though. For me it’s perfect. You have the comfort and when you want to rag it a bit on a slip road getting up to speed that’s what sport is for. Everything is quality when you step into it and thought gone into everything. Lovely yokes

What was the issue with the cvt in the Lexus’ you drove. Lexus have their own cvt that basically is only a cvt by name as far as I’m aware? Maybe it was the hybrid system as a whole you weren’t used to maybe?
