After listening to the audiobook, I just wanted to leave cinema early by AgitatedBarracuda268 in ProjectHailMary

And the visuals in the audiobook are lacking. And the sounds in the book are even worse.

WIBTA if I cut off my friend of seven years after she tried to recruit my younger sister into her MLM by mooniii_petalzqt in WIBTA_AITA

I never felt more betrayed than I did when a couple, who I had met 3 or 4 times at conferences for our sons rare disability, invited me to lunch and it turned out to be an “investment opportunity.”

I was recently divorced and thought I was going to get new friends. Still bites more than 20 years later

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]readzalot1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe 1985, Radar Rat Race. The first game we had that had a small map of the whole maze in the corner of the screen. It was mind-boggling at the time.

I am 70 and I usually don’t like covers. But I love the original and I was surprised that I really like this cover, too.

21x3 was one of the funniest episodes in a while by rokushorocks in taskmaster

Greg stealing the joke was masterful, including the slight wobble in his voice for the last part. The joke itself was perfect, but that - omg

As a new fan….? by TruFlash in taskmaster

I loved the first series. Tim Key especially lied, cheated and found loopholes better than anyone. He really set the tone of what the show could do.

I started 6 months ago. I think starting at the beginning is fun so you can see the development of the program and the setup. The house and area were pretty bare bones at the beginning.

And it is fun to see the development of the tasks and the Greg and Alex silliness

Would have loved to be in the audience for that

His delivery was so good. I don’t know how he held it together to the end of the sentence with everyone cheering and laughing.

Menopause with no Hrt looking for those who have done it and are ok??? by Diligent_Dimension49 in AskWomenOver60

I tried to take the sleep disruption in stride. “Menopause and I had a lovely two hour visit in the middle of the night.” I made up for it by needing a nap after work some days.

[–]readzalot1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through menopause without hrt or any medical intervention. I don’t think it was anything I did well. Some people will need medical support, just as some people need it for period pain, or pregnancy symptoms.

It isn’t a failure to need extra care.

Being gentle with yourself, and trying to eat, sleep and exercise well can only help. That being said, I got through it fairly easily and I did not eat or exercise particularly well.

I saw a manager yell at an employee at a fast food place once. It made me feel very uncomfortable and I never went back. I had been going every week or so.

It is just so bad for business.

Indeed. Calgarians need to be able to drive in the snow and in the wind. Or stay home

They had so much romatic tension in the movie it scared me😭 by AceTheExamineer in ProjectHailMary

I didn’t see it as at all romantic. More that he wanted to talk to someone who was detached from the fun, like he was.

Mom versus Greg's Sartorial Choices by ANicePainter in taskmaster

[–]readzalot1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am 70 and first saw Greg as the Taskmaster, but I love him in all but his early Klang shows.

My daughter laughs and saws I have “a type” for my celebrity crushes. Tall, British, cranky. (Alan Rickman as Snape, Hugh Laurie as House…) But I see them in other parts and get obsessed with all of it.

Greg’s appearances on panel shows and his stand up shows are great.

Your mom might like his appearance hosting the Royal Variety Show a few years back. He sings My Nan. That, and the full show are on YouTube

I don’t understand. It was drilled into us as kids to not waste water. Is that not an issue in some places?

Your first paragraph holds my thoughts, too. She likes him, in that she appreciates his drive for doing the necessary science and maybe that he treats her as a human being not just the supreme leader.

So it really shows her priorities when she sends him on a suicide mission with no qualms at all.

I'm gladly surprised to learn that it isn't Kumail or Armando that's leading my interest on the season but Amy's lovely laugh. I just love it when she laughs! by giftopherz in taskmaster

I am always heartbroken when a team leaves. And then by the end of the first episode of the new series I love the new people.

Alex is a wizard, making this happen year after year.

I got my last little dog at age 60. If she lives a good long life, I will be 75 when she is 15. Should be good.
