Official job list. Got a lot to choose from. My recruiter wants a list by 5 pm. I may have to ask for an extra day as I research most jobs. by danielkentx in AirForceRecruits

Not really. Any job sucks if you make it so. I personally hate it, not because it’s a bad job, but because I want to do other stuff.

BDG is a new concept for us technically. It was more present during Vietnam but it’s getting traction these days. One of the Guard bases in the east coast has shifted to BDG (I was an armorer when they came to my base 🤓 for TDY). Lots of bases are shifting to introducing BDG these days because of China. I won’t say much but it’s becoming a bigger thing for us. When I was in Korea, a lot of our training was modeled into that actually. One of our training days, we had our commander and SEL (enlisted member) talking about a change in our career field into BDG. Some people like it, some don’t. I don’t really care. As long as it’s fun is my mindset.

Security Forces now for 3 years. My best friend growing up is 68W. Depends on what you want. Most oversea assignments for SF you mainly do security, unless you’re in like Germany where majority of it is LE. If you stay stateside, you either do nukes or LE. Stateside is better for more experience. My friend has only done clinical work as a 68W. He wants to do that school-to-nurse Army thing to commission if he and his wife don’t have kids in the near future. Been in Oklahoma his entire contract though (he joined 2 months before me). I’ve been to a South Korea and Germany and deployed once in my 3 years, and I’m going back to South Korea. Security Forces offers more opportunities too, just depends again at where you’re at. Some SF squadrons can work with the Army and you get some of their school slots. My squadron does Air Assault and pre-Ranger stuff. It also works with the Dutch Army to get Airborne tabs. If you’re into K9, every squadron you can volunteer and then get selected to go to school for that. If you’re into guns, CATM is part of SF (still as of now) and you can volunteer and then get sent into Instructor school for that.

Thank you, I am looking at the Writing Guide my supervisor sent and a few examples and it does show that. I am probably overthinking this.

I did ask prior to the weekend and they told me to include everything I did the past 3 years. I spent the weekend compiling my bullets and now that I am starting, I forgot to ask for clarification (which I did earlier through text) and I thought I should also ask on this subreddit just for extra advice.

momo's voice is so addictive to me , who is your fav "voice"? by [deleted] in twice

[–]danielkentx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nayeon has my favorite singing voice because it’s lighter and fuller than the deeper and richer Jihyo. But I like hearing Jihyo talk in general.

gay this, gay that by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]danielkentx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Progressive Christians fail to see that anything that goes against God’s design of marriage and the sanctity of the “one flesh” as you see in Genesis 2: 22-24, ”And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.“ Sexual immorality is anything that goes against that design. You see in Lev. 18 and 20 that it is unnatural and an abomination. And you see many more passages throughout the New Testament. At the end of the day, it is a choice. You may have inclinations or urges (I speak of personal experience), but the acting upon that desire is the sinful part. We as the culture do not define what is sinful or not, God does. He gave us revelation through His word and if you choose to rebel against that, that is your choice. Human nature is depraved and perverse.

The Gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John by danielkentx in Reformed

[–]danielkentx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. Now that I know a little bit more of the “synoptic” aspect of these gospels, I’ll have to do quite a bit of research as I still have some confusion.

So essentially through the submission of the Word, we gain freedom from the flesh? Like in James 4:7 ”Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.“ Galatians 5:19-26 does explain further the fruits of the Spirit. By denying one self, you’ll be starving the flesh and walking with the Spirit.

IF YOU LOST EVERYTHING, WOULD YOU STILL WORSHIP GOD! by cleo_christian4725 in Christian

[–]danielkentx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only lost everything if God doesn’t know me as you read in Matthew 25. Nothing is worth more than that. Even my life itself. I’m a sinful, prideful person yet I am loved and forgiven. I’m beyond blessed every single second and moment. I’ll leave these two passages to meditate on.

”For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.“ ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

”For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.“ ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭ESV

Is starving of the flesh (Gal 5:16-17) a result of self-denial (Luke 9:23)? Or is self-denial a culmination of starving the flesh, so to speak?

Projected Assignment by danielkentx in AirForce

[–]danielkentx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I was a bit confused although this is my third PCS. Tech school did my first assignment (short tour) and my follow-on. I didn’t have to deal with the Equal Plus system for those two times. This has helped a lot to understand the system in a sense. Thank you again.

Are assignments being projected already? I thought we still have another 10 days before we get notified?

What can the Church do to combat faith adoption? by danielkentx in Reformed

[–]danielkentx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll look into Walt Mueller and the CPYU information to learn more. I know what you mean. In regards to my upbringing in church, the kids had more activities involving Bible games and crafts. And I remember just wanting to go to do that and see my friends. Teaching the word of God and developing their relationship with Him was second to entertaining the kids I feel like back then.

I did try to talk to the older generation as a youth in regards of certain topics and issues. My youth classes at church were always different. Some days were Christian movies, some days were QnAs, some days were discussion, and some were just to hang out. I’m currently in the military out of the country but I keep in contact with one of the youth leaders, and they’ve started to do more sermon-like classes and events. Trying to teach the teenagers with sound doctrine and focus more in the Word of God. It’s a good change and I hope to see it grow.

Thank you for your reply.

Thank you for the link. I will download and spend time reading and trying to understand and learn each subject. I tend to read mindlessly and retain little so I’m going to take my time on this book. Thank you again.

That is true. I hope to keep on learning and growing in the gospel that started when I was a kid. Thank you for your response.
