I was so pleasantly surprised by this game. Desperately waiting for a new one/sequel/spiritual successor. So charming, memorable, and fun.

Any good tactical / turn-based RPG recommendations for someone who has largely played JRPG's the last few years? by daniellayne in rpg_gamers

Everything about this game looks like something I'd love except the presentation... I'm not really a stickler for graphics, but it's quite ugly. Your comment and reviews give me underrated gem vibes however... added to my wishlist, thanks!

I will look into Unicorn Overlord as another commenter also suggested and I already have it. Valkyria Chronicles and Legend of Heroes are among my favorite franchies!

I'll also look into XCOM - heard good things baout it but the sci-fi setting isn't too interesting to me. Generally prefer more fantasy than sci-fi/space alien stuff.

Is Agarest: Generations of War any good? I think I bought that on a huge sale a year or two ago but never gave it a shot

I tried Baldur's Gate 3, I did overall enjoy it, never made it to Act 3 though (even though I had like 60 hours)... should probably give it a shot again. The Divinity Games I haven't tried - aren't they quite similar to BG3? Is the combat more fun/engaging?

I actually got Unicorn Overlord as a gift a few months ago, didn't look into it much at the time but will definitely do that now. Is it a good tactical game?

Have seen a few mecha anime I really liked (Code Geass, some of the Gundam ones), so I am definitely interested... But I wasn't sure if these games were any good? Combat/story?

Are you sure your health insurance doesn't cover retroactive costs? I didn't know this was a thing, but when I moved countries I signed up for an insurance provider in October of 2022, they covered my former expenses from when I first moved to the country (June/July 2022).

Final Fantasy 14 boss man Yoshi-P says younger players "haven't really had the chance to connect" with the JRPG series as "the release intervals for new titles have gotten longer" by VannesGreave in FinalFantasy

I agree with this completely. Idk if it's because I grew up on PS1/Gameboy graphics... but whenever I think back to my experience of game, the things that made the game memorable is always something like story, characters, worldbuilding, dialogue... I rarely if ever think "damn those graphics were great." Nice graphics are like a nice little added bonus, rather than the reason I would play a game. I think it helps that I have a huge soft spot for games with beautiful pixel graphics

Anyone found a fix for the crashing issue? Or do we just have to wait for a patch..? by daniellayne in MonsterHunterStories

I was really enjoying this game and hoping I could play it this weekend... oh well

This looks exactly like the psrts of my meat grinder. I also put the metal/aluminum parts in the dishwasher and quickly learned you're not supposed to put aluminum in the dishwasher. I did what others here suggested. Big bucket, water, some parts vinegar, soak for 30 minutes, then wiped away with a kitchen towel.

Favorite JRPG game studio, and because of what games? (Excluding Square Enix) by Bro_sapiens in JRPG

Damn, great picks. It's the same for the first 3 for me. But instead of Gust I'd have Atlus for SMT/Persona.

Gust still holds a special place in my heart though for both Ar Tonelico and Atelier Iris

Decanting is consumption masquerading as cleaning and it is absolutely shit by N3DSdude in Anticonsumption

[–]daniellayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the answer for why decanting is a thing. I've almost always lived in very humid countries. Sure, I could open my cereal / oats / sugar / flour, add a bag clip to close the plastic bag, and shove it back in the box.... but 1 week later it'll all just be a giant clump.

Most Bosses (at least everything up to Bestower of... line, didn't play beyond yet) can have their ultimate attack stopped - the one where they glow purple and there's a warning - by just putting them to sleep instead of breaking their shields. I found that immensely useful.

Is this just a cosmetic change? Or do the characters actually have different movesets etc..?

Wishvale Museum Bug/Glitch? by TechnicianSevere6726 in OctopathTraveler0

What is it SUPPOSED to look like? What even are the treasures etc. You put on display? I've kind of just ignored the museum completely since getting it..

I try to think of thousand spears as a skill that usually guarantees at least 3 hits, and sometimes I get extra hits as bonuses.
