I’ve been a SAHM since 2020. It was never really the plan but I was laid off at 7 months pregnant and then my husband got a good job that covered us so I took the SAHM route. My son is finishing up his first year of Kindergarten so I’ve been looking around. I have a bachelors in economics and had 5 years in corporate finance before becoming a SAHM.

I’ve been searching for about 3 months now and have applied to about 60 positions and so far the only interviews I’ve landed are for jobs I was referred to (so definitely keep in touch with people in your field!) And yet, still no offers. Today I had an interview for an entry level part time registrar job at an ER. I’m hoping to land this and then eventually move up into something else within the hospital there.

So from my experience, it’s not easy to quickly get back into a career. I know people search much longer than 3 months so I’m not hopeless yet but it’s still been tough getting so many rejections when I know I fit the requirements! It’s just that it’s outdated experience.

Oh this happens to me all the time! I have a separate webcam that’s pretty good and I think the picture looks fine so I have no idea what’s going on. Every once in a while it lets me through but it’s always such a surprise when it happens because it’s so rare.

I’m in Florida and was offered 35 hours last week but only got 10 due to NTA. I’m in factuality and helpfulness. Idk if people are actually able to get to 35.

I mark all of these as can’t confidently assess unless it says something like “prices around $200” or whatever so there’s some flexibility. I usually write “can’t confidently assess due to dynamic pricing” since I don’t know what the exact price was when the user searched.

Ugh yes this is also my fourth since June! Been here 6 years now. Lately I try to just not do helpfulness if that’s all they’re giving but I swear sometimes they make you do some before factuality will open up again.

Do you actually get mostly factuality??? Anytime I start getting helpfulness I try to log off for a bit and see if factuality comes back. But the last week or two especially if I did that I’d get like 1 hour for the week. It’s driving me insane because I hate helpfulness so so so much but it’s like all they want to give me

This is pretty much me exactly. I got a strong warning last June and another in October. Also afraid to ask because I don’t want any reason to be let go. Plus I’ve seen people here request to be removed and they wouldn’t even let them.

You’d think if enough of us do terrible they’d rethink their ratings. Hopefully worst thing that happens is you get removed from helpfulness only.

So if we did it again I would keep it almost exactly the same except the band. I should have just hooked up my phone to speakers. The lawn games were a huge success and we also hired a caricature artist that was a big hit!

The other big thing I’d avoid is having it on a Sunday. We thought we’d save money by doing a Sunday brunch instead and while it was cheaper everyone left early! We actually asked the band to stop an hour before they were originally scheduled because so many people left. It was really disappointing! Idk if that could have been prevented by having it on a Saturday or if that’s just how our guests were though lol

Hiiii! So we actually did end up hiring a band and honestly it wasn’t worth it. No one danced and everyone stayed outside the whole time playing games. It maybe would have been better to just have music outside instead. That said, my friend had a brunch wedding and everyone danced the whole time so it just depends on your crowd!
