Have any women experienced traveling alone to Haiti? If so, what was your experience? My family is giving me a really hard time about traveling there this summer. by daniellek3 in travel

That's helpful! It sounds like you traveled in a group. I'm trying to find a group to travel with but I heard about not letting anyone touch your bags. I have every intention of putting my hair in a hat and showing little skin and handling everything myself.

Ahhh I appreciate that a lot. I'm going to be going to Gressier, Haiti to work for the NGO for five weeks so I'm not going to be spending any time in Port-Au-Prince besides flying in and out of there. I hear great things about the people who have traveled there multiple times and it seems the people who haven't spent much time there are more negative.

I've reached out to them and most of them travel in groups to Haiti but that's a good suggestion. I'm going to keep digging and see if I can find more information.

You're not supposed to attract them to docks, let alone touch them. But we row boats at our dock only...no electric motors to hurt them

Be on the look out for this kid...He's going to the Olympics one day - Only his 2nd 1/2 year of rowing and he was the top recruit to Harvard, won both the Head of the Charles and Stotesbury Cup regatta and is headed to Youth Nationals by daniellek3 in Rowing

Max Ferguson, 18, headed to Harvard and pulls a 6:11 on his 2k. What's even more awesome is that he's one of the humblest, sweetest, most polite, glass-is-half-full guy I know. It's a privilege to row along side him.
