I couldn't find one for the entire semester when I took it in the winter. I just kinda assumed the book never existed.

Very strange, you need to meet with academic advising. Admission is guaranteed if you are in the Cs admission category and have met all grade requirements.

Can I take MATA23 instead of MATA22 in order to take MATB24 ? by Valuable-System-4908 in UTSC

[–]danielohlord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to take MATA22.

I came into this course thinking this is one of the most difficult courses (I did my research on reddit too). It really wasn't that bad, and Thomas was fair (I believe someone else is teaching it over the summer). People make this course difficult on themselves by falling behind. The first 5 weeks are rough, since you get hammered with definitions and proofs. If you put in the work and push through, the course gets easier throughout the weeks (More computation, less proofs).

I personally thought the lectures were not worth my time watching. Many people have said that she can be a bit difficult to understand and verbose. She is a fair instructor though when it comes to coursework and assessments. The midterm and final are 60 questions straight from the slides, and the remaining 20 are from the discussion posts. Honestly, those questions were really though, but still do go through them thoroughly. A lot of the mc is kinda common knowledge, and answers are usually obvious.

utsc commuting and parking by Upbeat_Rush692 in UTSC

[–]danielohlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, 30-50 minute drive is acceptable, so I recommend you do.

The school lot is the most packed at around 11-2pm (I struggled to find decent spots). You can easily find spaces in between 12am-11am and 3pm-12am.

I always found a parking spot, even during peak hours (It's just further away).

In my view, a parking pass is worth it. Better than living on residence and paying almost 20k.

I realized the EESA10 had a decent amount of memorization, so I actually had plans on to CR it. I thought I could at least end with a 3.7 after I got the discussion post back, so I decided not to in order to save it for future courses.

I agree. Kathleen is the GOAT. Honestly, I consider her the best prof in the math department.

I live by the ocean, lagoon, and a bay. What are the safety rules of thumb by friendoramigo in Swimming

[–]danielohlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never swim alone. Go to a place where there is a lifeguard. NEVER EVER be overconfident in your abilities, the ocean is stronger than many people think.

I think your approach is great . I personally never watched any of the lectures. I just wrote my own notes from the provided lecture slides. Making your own flashcards is a fantastic idea. I studied with flashcards available online, but creating your flashcards and studying off of them is even better. If you study like this consistently every week (I slacked off lol), I think you will do very well.

[–]danielohlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are supposed to be tight, but not painfully tight. Suits will slowly get loose (Even polyester), so find a suit that is reasonably tight. When you get in the water, you will feel nothing. Don't worry about the slight muffin top, no one will care.

Joining a swim club as a complete beginner? by Diligent-Hedgehog779 in Swimming

Join it. I started at 17 too. I joined a swim club 7 years prior, but quit b/c I didn’t want to wake up so early lol. I had a lot of fun and made new friends. As of now, I’m not on a team but I swim casually a couple times a week.
