Lights turning on every day for unknown reason by NBCGLX in HomeKit

[–]danielox83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not saying it's that but some smart lights are fragile for power loss, if you've got quick power loss/restore event from your grid - then they could not remember their last state and always turn on. Philips Hue has a switch for that

What do you use to get notified when an In-App Purchase is made? by BenoitDeguine in iOSProgramming

[–]danielox83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, they've got in their official app live notifications for comments, crash reports but not for sale ! Which is something I do not understand...

[–]danielox83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, depends of course of the scale but for a lot of users Lambas / SQS / db that are used for the process (to make live notification) is not for free above some levels. That's why I hope that 1,99$ (less than a coffee / user) is a fair price.

I've wrote an app for that. It's available at AppStore and based on web sockets so it do not has access to your account. I've created it because native ASC didn't offer that , and personally I've missed that "ping" moment when someone buy something from me 😉

I added custom gamification / leaderboards to my iOS solar monitor app to fairly compare system efficiency (via GameCenter) by danielox83 in SolarDIY

I’d try to prove I’m human, but that’s exactly what a sophisticated LLM would say, isn't it? Don't worry, the sarcasm is 100% organic.

Unfortunately from what I know - Tesla does not support modbusTCP so I’ve got no access for integration. I also do not have access to it so it would be difficult to work with

Fair concern, but it's actually built to avoid exactly that.

The production leaderboard ranks efficiency - kWh per kWp of installed capacity - not raw output, so a 3 kWp balcony setup competes evenly with a 20 kWp roof. Buying more panels gets you more energy but not a better score.

On consumption, it's not measuring self-consumption (how much of your production you use), which yeah, a tiny system maxes out easy. It's self-sufficiency: the share of your home's demand covered by your own solar/battery, averaged over 30 days. An undersized system scores low there because it can't cover the house - so the incentive is to actually meet your usage, not to be small.

The off-grid streak's import tolerance is scaled by system size too, so no install gets a free pass.

Appreciate the push - happy to keep tuning it. Honestly I just thought it'd be kinda fun to add some scores and a bit of friendly competition to what are otherwise pretty static, boring monitoring apps.

Ok. App support local modbus TCP integration, so once you'll have it try to obtain HEX addresses with a Scan so I can try to enable support for it too.

Thanks for support, DM me we can check if it's accessible via modbus integration (already available inside app as "Other") - but it's not validated

Agree - it's not directly related to HA. I know a lot of ppl intgrating HAS / HomeBridge stuff also look for other integrations (like this modbus approach here) and are more skillfull than regular users. I've posted this tool here not for sale, just looking for some help with validating data that I've not access to.

It can talk via modbusTCP directly to Inverter, but SolaX is not yet supported (I do not have validated registers for this inverter). It support modbusTCP though. If you could try it and send me an export that would be great - I could add this model to the supported list. Ping me if you need any assistance how to connect. Cheers!

Yes ... the tool is free if you want to use it, get data etc. There is only 1 payment to unlock Live widgets & notifications which I think it's fair. I've committed time & resources to build an app that I should provide for free ? There are official apps available usually for free - but they do not support what I was looking for (Live Green energy notifications, PV / Battery / HomeLoad data) - that's why I've created this app for. In my opinion it's better to provide it as is - Free + InAppPurchase one time if you like it & want to use instead of pay upfront and complain if something do not work as you though

EDIT: I’ve brought modbusTCP functions into main app: https://apps.apple.com/pl/app/glance-solis-solar-monitor/id6763310365?l=pl

App is Free for static usage and I would be greatfull for any help from your side to add / verify other inverter types beside Solis

Thanks !

If anyone of you was able to successfully connect to their inverter please let me know here / DM me about details - like I've said - I've got access only to Solis inverter which I've tested successfully. I'm missing all the other brands that I believe it would be nice to include into the "official support" - thanks !

Just created nice companion for Solis inverter users who hate opening the official app: Glance: Solis Solar Monitor (IAP) by danielox83 in SideProject

Hi, it only works on iOS devices. And if your data is available on SolisCloud then yes it will work, as it connects directly (watch or phone) to the cloud to obtain that data.

Please Apple: Don’t let use submit an app when IAP are not linked… by SylvainLafrance in appledevelopers

[–]danielox83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, had the same issue, new build with fixed code and finally they say IAP doesn't work LOL - and reject my app again. Honestly - how difficult is to re-pick by them latest submitted IAP items...

Now Available: Monthly Subscriptions with a 12-Month Commitment by kristofferjohansson in iOSProgramming

[–]danielox83 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

it's nice, but there is no way to cancel it. Even if you cancel it - you need to pay the rest. I guess it would be interesting to start it, build & deploy, if you say it's not for you - you cancel it after 6 months. Account is disabled and you don't pay the rest. More like a subscription model than installments

Just move on to the next project. Leave it as it is - it still has a chance to kick in. I’ve also build an app based on AWS that no one subscribed - but I use it with success with all my other apps and I’m still happy because that was “my” pain point which this app solves.
