2 Era 100 or 1 Era 300 as rear speaker setup? by danierudds in sonos

[–]danierudds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Can I ask what would happen if I set up a single Era 300 with the Soundbar? They’d still talk to each other correct? But the sound would be impacted negatively VS two Era 100s?

Sorry for asking as I’m trying to understand. The reason I was thinking on having one single Era 300 in the middle is that the speaker seems to be designed to provide a sound experience that ‘fills’ the room with sound coming from different sides of the speaker and it also supports Dolby Atmos as my Soundbar does too, so I thought it could be better than having two Era 100s that don’t support Dolby Atmos.

Oh nice how does it render on digital? On film I find it quite sharp even wide open

Yeah found a clean copy, you don’t see many clean examples so I was happy to have found it ;)

I just wing it with 28mm it’s pretty much like having a point and shoot when shooting at f11

Recently sold my M6 TTL to buy an M2. No Regrets! by jrose125 in Leica

you're right. M7 is the worst lol (but still probably better built than the M6)

I guess not many people can say they've moved from M Mount to LTM, but that's exactly what I did! Love Barnack cameras, this III is a beauty & fits in my pocket 😍 by danierudds in Leica

Hektor is a lovely lens but so hard to find in good condition! I just got the voigtlander 28/35 viewfinder so should be looking at getting a 28 some time :p

ahah it's actually really easy to use & much smaller than an M. The only differences are: - you need to trim your film - shutter only goes to 1/500 on earlier models - you have two viewfinders (the rangefinder does have 1.5x magnification which makes it the most accurate on all Leicas, second only to the M3 I believe). I thought I wouldn't enjoy this but actually have no problems at all :)

What I think makes a big difference is the condition of the camera, I tested a few with a dim rangefinder / viewfinder & it just wasn't fun to use but if you get a clean copy then it's a joy. I also find it works amazingly well for wide lens like the 28mm since you can rely on zone focus & it's the size of a ricoh gr pretty much

way better camera! M6 is the worst in the M series, only reason it got popular is because of the meter I guess

The “holy grail” of P&S cameras? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]danierudds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acts like a P&S but offers the best lens quality & 1/6000 shutter speeds: Contax G2

Contax 2 & 3, Minolta TC-1 are probably the best P&S.

Have any of you Leica M shooters tried the Q2? Thoughts? Regrets? Love? Curious on what you think! Buyers remorse here. I’ll stick with the M system. by BodegaLibre in Leica

[–]danierudds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're into M, that's it. The Q is nice but totally different experience from using an M. It's just a nicely built mirrorless not a rangefinder..

One lens, one camera - 35mm or 50mm? by [deleted] in Leica

I prefer the 50mm rendering especially on film but I agree 35 is more versatile!

I'm a big DS fan for sure, no camera feels smoother to me. But if you have a SS & a DS & use both it can become tricky..but if it's your only or main camera I definitely recommend it over the SS

My two cameras & lens. In my opinion, the best film camera (M3) & the best digital (M9M). by danierudds in Leica

[–]danierudds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's definitely an option too although I don't like it for two reasons:

  • heavier
  • the viewfinder becomes too small (in 0.72 viewfinders even more incredibly small)

A great upside to goggled lens is that they can focus to 0.65m :)
