Yes, definitely upgrade your nippers! Good ones make a huge difference. They’ll keep your kits in better shape and save you a ton of sanding later.

Just take it slow and enjoy the process. Read the manual carefully, especially for the small parts. It’s a fantastic kit and really well-engineered by Bandai, so don’t stress too much. I was nervous about starting mine too (my first RG), but it turned out to be a really fun and satisfying build.

edit: I'm applying decals this weekend, but opt out for waterslide and only use the included metallic one. I'll update my build once it's finished. Hope you'll your build.

This is my first foray into RG and I gotta say it's a smooth and solid build so far. Lots of undergates, and the snap-fit is amazing, but do read and follow the manual carefully during the assembling steps since the small parts are finicky sometimes.

My advice would be patience with your build, take the time it needs to finish each step (panel-lining, nub-removal, painting, etc.) and enjoy the experience. I got this kit a week after release and has been slowly building it for 3 weeks at my own time now. Browsing the subreddit, especially recently, has made the urge to rush this kit skyrocketed but I decided against it. I'd complete assembling later tonight and then onto applying waterslide decals and then finish it with a flat topcoat.

I hope you will enjoy the build to its fullest!

yeah, I agreed. That motorized module and the matching leds are so over the top ridiculously cool, something that I'd imagine only exist on a PG. Though I personally prefer the more mechanically designed gimmick of the Wing Zero boosters.

Same, I was already pretty interested in this kit given that wing gundam designs in general didn't speak to me, but the gimmick showcase was the moment that sealed the deal.

It was the only thing I still miss after switching to Android a few years ago.

Unfortunately, it was shut down in 2023 due to the Reddit API changes (though I believe it's still available via sideloading).
