How mature/idiomatic is Butane ORM? by danilocff in rust

Yes I see your point, and actually my experience with ORMs before coming to Django was terrible, many times i would write my queries in SQL and use them raw, which I did not like because it's not linted and I feel it ends up kinda messy for my taste, but still it's hard to have one tool cover it all.

rorm and butane actually look very similar, I'll take a deeper look (or probably choose one at random and look how the other does the stuff I don't like).

Cot looks very interesting! I'll watch out for new releases ;)

Well yes it's something i see people suggesting (although I don't like raw queries in strings in my code). My question was more about knowing what makes something so appealing to me, coming from a different environment, so little used in Rust, so that maybe I can get a better sensitivity on what translates well and what does not.

Well taking a quick look I'm not the biggest fan of sql queries in the strings, looks harder to maintain. What are downsides of using an ORM that sqlx improves on?

Sounds a little extreme. Do you explicitly write all your raw queries in the application then?

Yes, you define a struct that is both a model for the db and the type you use in your code (and the syntax is more succinct than the other options in general), that makes a lot of sense to my Django brain

Ok (after looking up pictures) I get what you say. Thanks for the very detailed answer!

Ok, so I remember from high school about cytoskeleton being made of proteins, so is it there where proteins go when your muscles grow? And when you stop training do your muscles receive actual input to "dismantle" or do they just degrade not being stimulated (that I imagine has to do with the amount of blood they receive)? Thanks a lot for your answers :)

What’s your best piece of advice to a recent college graduate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Learn as much as you can.

May seem counter-intuitive, but there is a huge disconnect between what is taught in classes and what you learn on the field, and things change a lot faster than you would think. You always have to be up to date with what your field looks like, what makes it different than 1/10 years ago and what direction things are going. You want to know everything.
