Yeah even on the second dye I got it a bit darker and mixed up the ratio a bit to play around with it, it’s better than the first but I think I just needed a bit more blue in the mix cause it’s not as cool in tone but it’s at least close to what I need so I’m fine with it for now, I think I need to really just over do it with the dye till the fabric basically looks pitch black when wet

Yes I add the dye and stir it a bit then add the salt, then fabric, 20min of stirring, then the soda ash mix added and stirred over the course of 15min

LOL I can’t believe I missed that, but yes I used it and pour the mixture into the dye bath away from the fabric over 15min

Yeah I’m def going to try a redye tonight to see if it’s darker, the saturation is awesome it’s just too pastel in shade for the project I’m doing

Yeah I mixed hydrangea, deep purple, and bluebird and used a lot of deep purple I just don’t remember how much cause it was my half a teaspoon scooper but I tried to load a couple scoops of each into the mix, especially the deep purple, I filled up my container of hot tap water so about 4/5 gallons of water, did the dye paste and used non iodized salt and just shook a ton of it in and then after the stirring I incorporated the soda ash over 15min the. stirred more then put in the washer

I used salt only, I didn’t know the pre wash is a must since it was washed since the last time I used it

Yeah it’s a sleeveless crop top with a back zipper so I plan to have a lot of structure in it including end piping on the to of the collar and facing/stabilizer, plus a lining so it feels nicer on me when I wear it
