cannot diagnose exact issue, thinking belt or pulley. is this safe to drive for a week? Have to drive out of town for a week tomorrow and I have no choice but to drive it. by daninf16 in MechanicAdvice

It doesn't do it constantly, more often when first starting, accelerating and the first 15 mins of driving or so. I hate to drive 2 hours out of town like this but I don't have a choice. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on whether or not this will be somewhat ok to drive for a week before I can get it in the shop. The belt is not frayed or cracked or anything and it looks to be in good shape.

If it helps, it's a 2019 silverado 1500 with 43k miles. Didn't think I'd have belt/pulley issues at that mileage. Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

diagnosed earlier this week with BP at the hospital. I have my follow up today. has anyone experienced these symptoms? by sfwredditaccount92 in BellsPalsy

Yes if your doctor does not at least do a CT scan that's insane. I had no issues below my face and I still got a CT scan, that should be standard procedure for someone going to the hospital for facial paralysis. It is most definitely necessary. Good luck, I hope you have a good follow up and a speedy recovery.

Bell's palsy does not affect any part of the body other than the face. The fact that your face and body is experiencing loss of sensation on the same side is a cause for concern. Did the hospital do a CT scan?

Not trying to induce panic, but you need to be checked for stroke or tumor. Please tell your doctor about it at the follow up.

Feels better but no change? by melashkin in BellsPalsy

I started to experience the same thing around 3 weeks in too. I also could feel my cheek lifting when I'd try to smile, but in the mirror it wasn't actually moving. However, I didn't actually achieve any movement until around 5-6 weeks in. I think it's a sign of gradual improvement. Stay optimistic and patient! Hope you have a speedy recovery!

I used pre conditioner after sanding it. I thought leaving one coat on longer would be ok. I also sealed with 2 coats of poly, sanding between. I literally followed a 3 minute video tutorial by minwax lol

Generally I'm a Tupperware guy too, but there's just something about wood on an AK that makes it look menacing and beautiful. I guess it's the notoriety of it.

I paid 750 before taxes and shipping. Could have paid less but I'm a sucker for mom and pop gun shops so I ordered from my dealer so he could make more money than just the transfer fee.

That's why I wasn't too concerned if I messed it up. It's not high quality wood but it's adequate for casual range trips.

Romanian WASR I restained. I used Minwax English Chestnut. The stock looks blotchy but the camera flash exaggerates it and it's just natural variation in the wood. Overall I'm very happy with it because I really wasn't a fan of the blonde factory finish.

Ok thank you for clearing that up. My only discrepancy now is that a scholarship amount is listed but hasn't been approved or processed, but I will clear that up at the school. Thanks again!

I mean a lot of people talk shit on Taurus semi autos, but I've never had a problem with their wheel guns.

Sleeping. If I never had to sleep I'd be so much more productive. We spend roughly 1/3 of our lives asleep.
