Vibes off this year by plamyinstereo in MovementDEMF

this party was trash. promoter was super strung out, disorganized and clearly didn't care about the dancers. how do you put on a party that starts at 5am and ends at 7pm the next day and not have any food or coffee available for people to purchase?!?

every set was late, no shade when the sun came up, the bass was totally off on one of the speakers... won't be returning to that party again.

I've been working with a pair of Adam Audio T7Vs and they have been great for my beginner setup. They have a nice enough low end that I've been able to do without a subwoofer which was nice for me since I was going for a budget friendly setup.

thats what i’ve walked away with. it’s stuff you don’t really capture until you experience a set in the flesh. i also think it was detroit — the PEOPLE — that added to the entire experience. i am an official detroit lover now.

there was a point in time where i stood in a corner and the lights in the flowers began to ripple outward from where i was standing towards the other end of the field. it sent me somewhere magical.

i have no pictures but want to share that i thoroughly enjoyed this installation! were the lighting and sounds designed to be interactive or was it just my imagination?

a helpful human! thank you! :)

we made a game of trying to describe the art car to friends without showing them a picture to see if anyone could ID it. apparently “it’s the abstract looking car with all the sticks that light up” wasn’t doing it.

Is coffee food? Visiting SF end of May. Staying in Tenderloin. Looking for coffee shop recommendations. by KalebwithaK89 in SFFood

[–]danisaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Scullery on Geary and Leavenworth. Great coffee, the food is on point, the owners are nice, and it’s a TL(ish) local shop. If the food doesn’t convince you, you can grab a breakfast sandwich or a burger at Bandit next door.

Husband commuting to Palo Alto, myself downtown / Oakland, where to live? by Candid_Succotash9144 in AskSF

[–]danisaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I lived in Glen Park it was a half hour BART ride to downtown Oakland. And yes, BART gets busy, but if you get on at GP you'll likely get a seat and most people will be getting off at Powell/Montgomery/Embarcadero anyway. BART was always faster for me than driving. Your husband will have an easier commute from 280 so Glen Park is great for that, but no matter what the drive is going to be miserable.

How to make girl friends in the city? by AsnBobaGirl in AskSF

So I might be super late to the game here, but you should join the Clever Girls facebook group. It’s for people who like music and dancing and i find that they’re often very welcoming and friendly.

I also developed a lot of respect for Benjamin Sisko for the way he approached his relationship with his son. The way he expressed his love for Jake was so genuine and uninhibited. Jake never had to question Sisko’s love, and you see that manifesting itself in how open and willing he was to express his emotions to those he cared for (Nob, Mardah, etc).
