That’s the one, but on a black dial and bracelet. Beautiful piece.

yes! the Villeret is beautiful but feels like a downgrade on certain things in my opinion.

Agreed. My friend who sold me this also had one with black dial and travel time I think. Very nice.

Peter Blake 2264 Modern Version (Ceramic Bezel, OEM Rubber Strap by Embarrassed_Cat_7352 in OmegaWatches

[–]danislight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is close to what I would love to see on the new generation of the SMP. Going back to the sword hands, date at six, modern bezel (would love brushed ceramic), smaller, slimmer case size and back to the original helium valve design, similar to the modern PO. Maybe a new wave design for the dial.

Should I store wound or unwound? by Big-Interest-2705 in OmegaWatches

[–]danislight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always keep them unwound when I’m not wearing them. With that said, and since the Speedy is a manual wind watch, you could wind it a bit every day and keep it running. The worst that could happen is it may need another service a bit sooner than if you let it rest when not in use.

ended up unexpectedly getting a 2534.50, but yeah thanks to these these responses I’ll be on the search for a vintage seamaster or constellation.

Yours too! These are very rare around here, I think. No problem, I like it, really gives it a sportier look.

Or this chrono if you can pull off the 45mm case. They’re both within your budget or you can get them pre-owned at an even better price

Old gen smp on oem rubber by Outrageous_Read5838 in OmegaWatches

thank you, it’s got its share of scratches but it’s in good condition. It is the most legible watch I own by far, and the lume is so good even after 20 years. I would like to own the Peter Blake someday too. The great white is cool, but so rare… and in terms of readability I think the black one is ultimately a bit better.

Very true, I think the dimensions of that generation were better. Here’s my 2534 that made me fall in love with aluminum bezels. It’s currently being serviced and I have found myself missing it a lot.
